IMF Expects Inflation to Stay High, Gopinath Says

The US is likely to experience higher inflation for some time, and the top economic job is to ease price growth and not cut rates too soon, International Monetary Fund First Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath says. She spoke to Bloomberg's Michael McKee in Jackson Hole.

Why do i have this feeling that this so called inflation is only affecting the ill informed Americans, I've been reading up on recession and the market, apparently both bull and bear market condition provides equal avenue to accrue massive gains, and a news article particularly mention a 32 year old that made $180k in 5weeks, how do I learn and apply these strategies, my portfolio has been stagnant for months.

my question to Gita would be "WHY DOES THE IMF LIKE TO SUPPRESS THE PRICE OF GOLD AND SILVER?"

In 2021 and 2022 over half of all residential homes were purchased by investors with cheap FED money. In that same time frame the top 1 percent doubled their wealth.

The idea that a small group of unelected officials can have such an impact on our way of life, is absurd. The Federal Reserve is obviously going to institute policies that favor their owners. Blackrock, with access to extremely low rates, was able to buy residential real estate more cheaply than the average family. Powell is un-levelling the playing field in favor of his masters. The Fed should be abandoned and QE should be banned.

technical analysis, suggests markets are only half way through the correction that started in Jan 22. Rates will need to be held at 5 or 6% for a long period than expected. My 2 cents.

This time last year the cost of electricity per megawatt-hour (MWh) in both France and Germany sat at around 85 euros.🐬 On Friday, 08/26/2022, both countries set record highs, with the cost climbing by at least 1,000 per cent from last year to €850 in Germany and over €1,000 in France, Le Monde reports. Largely because of the 🪲sanctions🦭 impose on Russia by the European Union the USA, UK and CANADA the “massive supply disruptions” is, threatening millions of people in Europe, the United States and elsewhere with an economic disaster. In addition, all the gun control USA democrats are doing for the world’s economy is just selling weapons to kill people.

Inflation doesn’t hurt everyone - people who borrowed long term at low rates to finance real assets gain because the nominal returns on those real assets increase while their debt costs stay fixed. Inflation is simply an arbitrary redistribution of wealth from lenders to borrowers. Not all lenders are rich and not all borrowers are poor. Some people get rich from such redistribution.

Many people think we are not in a recession because unemployment is low but remember in 1929 it was exactly the same. With super low interest rates people get greedy and buy more than they can actually afford and this is why we are at the beach at the beginning of a recession and the worst will come in March 2023

You'll always have inflation as long as there are frivolous spenders and ignorant people who don't need to be responsible
