Thank you for uploading this conference. I’m one of those pesky, late-diagnosed autistic women and this clear, concise summation of the history of the diagnosis was absolutely fascinating. 👏😊

Fact is, if you have been diagnosed with autism after the age of 12, you DO NOT have autism. This woman is trying to tear down what science has acheived over centuries by making her whole research of autism about gender and introducing faminist ideology into the matter with very unscientific methods. Her research is only doing harm to those who need treatment. In her papers she is bluring the lines between autism and narcissistic disorders, which are two extremely different and conflicting conditions from two different scientiffic fields, with the result and goal that ego-centric people can "identify" as autists to feed their condition of seeking constant gratification by being overtly extroverted or in modern terminoligy "loud". This applies to most of our modern feminist college student stereotypes and you can now guess how they will use this if Francesca Happé's THEORIES (they are nothing more) were established facts.

Great to see this, life is so much more challenging when there’s so little understanding and you have to spend your whole life masking, trying to not be obviously different. I am autistic/Aspergers. As a 3year old I had hyperlexia though had no interest in playing or communicating with other children. At 5 years old I could read anything, though didn’t understand what I was reading, just had to do it for the teachers who were impressed by it. I was considered extremely bright though as I got older I became very challenged because of communication problems. My only saviour was probably that my passion is art so you can get away with a lot of odd behaviour as an artist. I was treated like a prodigy at 13yrs old, but all this still didn’t help how hard life has been when you spend all your time camouflaging who you really are and then don’t know who you are anymore yourself.

Thank you so much for this video! Amazing new concept of what ASD is/ still changing and evolving. Much greater understanding of neurodiverses people with ASD and braking with the stereotypical person with autism! Mind blowing !

I’ve always wondered what the money angle is with autism, given that pharma hasn’t been able to milk it yet. I guess it’s therapists and scientists?
