this was so cute because they are naturally quite maternal/paternal... junie feels safe to explore on her own/isn't vying for attention but also knows her parents are still watching over her (like a secure attachment). they do their glances and definitely have their ears bent towards her to make sure she's doing fine. They're responsive to her presence but not in an overly smothering way but also not totally ignoring her. this reminds me of a real papa bear and mama bear with their little cub.
