In this clip, Iman Shumpert started off reacting to Patrick Beverley calling Chris Paul a "traffic cone," and after admitting that he thinks the memes are funny, Iman went on to state that he's not surprised at Beverley's comments. Iman explained that Patrick is outspoken on and off the court, and he added that it's likely not the first time that Chris Paul has heard something like that from him.

People don’t understand NBA players are competing against each other, they aren’t fans like we are. So Pat doesn’t have to acknowledge CP3 the way we as fans do because he is in the same space as him. Whether we think CP is better than him or not, he doesn’t care because he has to compete against him. It’s not Pat Bev’s job to go on tv to praise Chris Paul. NBA is just so political you see guys in interviews & on tv sucking other NBA players that they compete AGAINST.

On God, anybody in the NBA is entitled to have their view. Now if it’s steps outside of basketball and becomes personal insults, or involves family, yeah that’s crossing the line. The whole notion that you have to be a certain caliber of player to speak on another is ridiculous, especially when you have people that NEVER played professional sports saying things about star players that could affect their salary.
