So before the Kentucky Derby, Mystic Dan would have been a 2nd stringer according to you , 3rd in Arkansas Derby. Got it. 🙂

@@rcg9573 correct. but since Muth was a 1st stringer. He won Arkie Derby. It made Mystik Dan move up to a 1st stringer. For the KD... Another point is if they keep getting like 12th, 8th, even 2nd like Just Steel- then their a 2nd stringer. They must win place show In a grade 1. And be 1st-2nd-3rd. Consistently in the grade 1's. Like Muth-Sierra Leone & Mystik Dan and Forever Young. They gotta be close If their midpack in the big ones their 2nd stringers like Imagination

I've been following the horses for 50 years-they gotta be a 1st stringer. Like Rich Strike. Was 3rd (close) in the grade 2 Jeff Ruby. That's why he won the KD in 2023

The Preakness indirectly is really just a 2nd stringer race besides Mystik Dan. Dan should win cuz Muth was scratched. But he'll be 1st or 2nd With the right trip...
