0:00 - resizing an image produces noise -- why?

1:32 - RGB images
2:04 - resizing by throwing out rows and columns
2:39 - camera sensors also remove rows and columns
3:09 - moire patterns and aliasing
3:53 - pixels are discrete samples of a continuous function. Poor sampling creates noisy images.
