That is the best way so far, much safer than the rope-in-cylinder method. Thanks.

Worked great on a 2013 Hyundai Somata 2.4L. It needed a new belt already, so I didn't mind if I messed it up! Thanks for sharing

This worked! Don't use a new belt (duh), but if you cut your old belt for some reason, like I did, you might have to use it.

@@jfGarage4k , I'm working on a 98 Buick century, I'm lost here. What happened is the belt jumped off, I put it back on and noticed the crank shaft is sticking out about 1/4 inch further then all the other pullies, the pulley " where the belt ride's on" just come off. I don't have any leaks and everything works fine " I'm stuck and would appreciate any input you can give me.

@@jfGarage4k , I'm wondering if it's a compression fit or if I need to replace the whole crank shaft, I didn't see any shinny metal " like if it broke off" so I'm lost here, I want to thank you for giving me any information to lead me in the right direction.

Inspect the crankshaft pulley the keyway and the crankshaft. That crank pulley should go in farther in towards the engine
