My understanding is that Angelina was ten when she recorded this song. I have to ask; what 10-yr-old child could possibly express the depths of feeling and emotion this way, including the vocal skill to reach them? Angelina is a timeless figure, her soul transcends age. She is immortal.

She is 10-12 years old!!!!! Don't worry OMeezy, I got that covered for the both of us!! Angelina is still amazing me after a steady 2-3 years of listening to her take song after song away from the original artists and making herself the owner of the songs. She is 14 now and still learning and developing. She is going to be a monster when she gets old enough. Right now though her family is trying very hard to ensure she has a childhood that she can remember as a child. I am in no rush to see her give any of that up either. If you want to take another chance on a young singer, try Daneliya Tuleshova from Ukraine. Like Angelina, Daneliya won The Voice Kids Ukraine at 10 yrs.old. You should start with her blind audition she sings 'Stone Cold'. Take a chance just watch this one if you like it there is more. She has already been on a show produced in America. She was invited to be on The World's Best a talent show. She won the hearts of many on that show. At this time she is making attempts at putting up some rap videos. So if you like her, she is 13 now, you have many types of songs to choose from. I have to say Angelina and Daneliya are my 1A and 1B favorite singers. So I am not trying to take any shine from Angelina as I love them both. Anyway check her out you may surprise yourself.

Any 10 year old child that can put that kind of emotion into a song is a musical goddess

It is still a little unclear how old Angelina was when she did this demo. I had it pegged at 12, but new reports have her as young as 10 years old. 10 or 12, doesn't matter. The soul pouring out in this vocal would be incredible even if she was 40. This was a song written by the artist Baby Fuzz. His team had sent the track to Angelina and she recorded this demo, but it was never released. The demo was leaked somehow and made its way on to this video. Baby Fuzz later recorded the song himself with no knowledge that Angelina had made this one. This bootleg video actually published shortly before the Baby Fuzz official video released. The video is surrounded by a little controversy because Angelina has said that she would never sing it again because of the suicidal implications of the final lines. But (for obvious reasons) many of her fans love this track. ...and if you ever in your career have the opportunity to feature Angelina on one of your tracks you will be a lucky artist. This is a legend in the making, and anything she touches is gold. And yes, her voice sounds great on a studio mic. You are going to hear it on her Born to Die. Even though it's recorded in her home, the mic she uses picks up every detail.

not 100% positive but i read several people associated with babyfuzz worked with angelina on shield. i know she wrote and arranged shield so i assume they helped produce it. this is probably a one-take demo they had angelina sing. her mother sara disapproved of the message lyrics sent and copyrighted the song and shelved it . she said angelina would never sing the song again. babyfuzz wrote the song at a songwriters convention in norway with intention of selling it to other artists. nobody picked it up so he said it was a message that he should sing it. i think the guys that had angelina record leaked her version within days of babyfuzz releasing his. this is why video says "leaked". b4 i played song the first time i thought that was the name. babyfuzz just recently said angelina's version was incredible and he had no problems with it. i guess not - it would have charted and been a mega hit...it was so strange when i first heard song because angelina at time had 30K views while babyfuzz had 3k and her version was several days online b4 his and i knew he wrote it. now it makes sense. the guys that leaked knew how good it was - they are the julian assange of music...u have to admire angelina's family with all due respect , though.

It has taken me a long time to sort out the fact from fiction, but there are still some "grey details".... this song being one of them.

Maybe we'll never know the story about this cover. The fact is that the original recording with the editing done by a fan (don't remember his name now) is still on KZread. If Angelina had any real qualms or regrets about it, a claim could have been made. Just my honest opinion ;)

Angela sings a song that is a total departure from anything else that she has done so far. It just shows another dimension of her voice. It is hauntingly beautiful....exquisite even. A Russian composer specifically wrote the music for Angelina Jordan to sing. He put it on his Album which was otherwise is all instrumental. It is called “Song for A” Nico Cartosio. The lyrics come from a poem written by Robert Burns in the 1700s. .

This young lady is killing everything. She just does it like a snap...

since you are in the music industry, what I can tell you is that even though Angelina doesn't sing in your style, what you can learn from Angelina is to give your 100% effort every single time... doesn't matter if you are singing to 5 guys in a club or to a 60,000 capacity stadium. Is all about the performance. Angelina channels the spirit of the song she is doing every single time. You never know if 1 of those 5 guys in the club knows a Music mogul that can change your life. Also... for "Born to Die" you have to wear headphones.... but for "A Million years ago" if you are not wearing headphones I'll come to see you and beat you silly :) the last song is from Adele. Maybe you can listen to that one first and then react to Angelina's version. Almost everybody thinks Angelina's version is better.... let us know what you think

The songwriter is Aksel Calson. This video is the only sample volume from Angelina on KZread. after the lyrics for Angelina were not changed, Angelina never sang this song again. Angelina had big problems with the oppressive Lyric (suicide). I always forget Angelina's age when she sings. Angelina always changes the lyrics of the covers she has problems with (e.g. Back to Black, Rehab, Bohemian Rhapsody etc.) I have a guilty conscience, out of respect for Angelina I shouldn't listen to her interpretation of this song but it is so spectacular, it is impossible not to listen to Angelina. A song about suicide, the writer wanted her to sing it so she did the demo then she wanted to change it at the end because of the suicide reference. He didn't want that so she walked away from it and won't ever do the song again.

Angelina's million-seller that never was. ☹ I still "hold out" hope that someday she will record a version with different lyrics in the final verse (if that's what it takes to get this released). If not, then mark my words: someday far in the future, this will appear in an Angelina Jordan "box set". [grin]

The song was shopped around to different artists for possible publishing. Angelina Jordan recorded a demo but decided against publishing it because the lyrics were not appropriate and may encourage mentally or emotionally disturbed people to take their own lives. Contrary to what circulating on the internet and what some commentators are saying, Baby FuzZ was never contacted about changing the lyrics. Baby FuzZ recorded and released the song due to lack of interest from other artists. He later listened to Angelina’s version and liked it very much. He did unfairly receive lots of criticism for the false belief that he prevented Angelina from changing the lyrics although there was no discussion of that between the two sides. Baby FuzZ could have blocked Angelina’s video due to copyright issues but did not. I want to thank him for not doing that and so should all Angelina’s fans. Ulyses Labajo Angelina’s version was leaked by someone who was involved in the recording of the demo and not by Baby FuzZ. He wasn’t aware of the recording until after it was released. He commented about that in response to the criticism and verbal abuse he was receiving about the false narrative that he prevented Angelina from changing the lyrics. There was no discussion about that at all. He did threaten to block the video if the online criticism continue. Angelina’s team obviously didn’t not want to officially release the song however they didn’t contact Baby FuzZ about blocking the video which they can at anytime. I did ask Angelina when I met her and her grandmother about the song and she did indicate that it was a demo and has no intention of releasing it. She did not elaborate further.

I really like this song. To bad Baby Fuzz won't change those 2 or 3 line or let here do it. She said she'll never do that song again. Cause of the suicide implications it has at the end, & she doesn't want someone to get the wrong idea from a song she sings plus she knows youth suicide is so high right now. So we all hope Baby Fuzz will change when he see how we all support her & her pureness & giving character & popular this song is with us. This would be an easy #1 hit but she wont release it. She has a great heart with a God given gift.

She doesn't mind sad. Jazz is melancholy. It wasn't her that didn't like it. Her mother didn't want it released because of the suicide part at the end. This is not her song .. it was made as a demo for Baby Fuzz, who wrote it. it's a brilliant song. I hope now that her mom can see her solid and smart and still focused on her singing .. she may open to it .. but that ending is indeed intense.

Search for the meaning behind she not wearing shoes while she performs--no hand ripping necessary.

I think she was about 12 yo when she recorded this. The group that wrote this song asked Angelina to sing it. After she made the recording she realised that the end of the song implied suicide. She asked if the lyrics of that part of the song could be changed and the writers refused so she did not give permission for the track to be released. A shame because it's one of my favourites. I'm enjoying your reviews.

@@strongangel One clip of her Gloomy Sunday audition had a translation of the judges comments and the last male judge asked Angelina what the song was about and she said it was about a 'sad Sunday'. So I don't think she did know the darker meaning of that song.

this is wrong. First.. Angelina and her team have never been in contact with the writers regarding changing the lyrics of this song, or even showed interest in singing it. It is entirely Angelina and family who decided not to sing this song. The songwriter Baby Fuzz, have said since no artists approached him regarding singing his song, he sang it himself (link to his song "Im still holding out for you" kzread.info/dash/bejne/o2l81aN7g5e1iLQ.html ). Despite all the angelina fans that have bombarded his comment section to his song here on YT, telling him that Angelina sings the song soo much better than him etc, which I find quite rude to be honest. (do not think angelina would have approved) Despite this, he has let her version stay here on yt, even thou he could have it easily removed, so I think we should be grateful. And its not about suicide. He have said its a story of a man who will be waiting for his love, to return to him. Baby Fuzz said in an interview about the song "A fun line in the second verse deals with impulsive swiping of potential Tinder matches. It’s not even to find someone to match with. It’s just a cyclical behavior of rejecting others in an attempt to affirm an old flame that will never work. It’s actually the whole idea of the song… I’m just delusionally holding out in some monk-like vow of abstinence and loyalty that is incredibly self-destructive."

This fantastic vocal could and maybe should be used to highlight and fight youth suicide.Angelina is older and better known and her amazing composure dignity and above all soul,is making her an incredible role model not just for the young but for all of us .Great reactions mate ,look forward to more.
