@@jediavatarpotter Funny enough in the comics, Darth Vader SERIOUSLY hates himself. He hates that he killed his beautiful wife, lost his children, and destroyed his body and nice face. He once had it all and he fucked it up. There is literally a scene where he kills another character by piercing his own body with a light saber, admitting out loud he hates himself more than anyone else. I agree its probably a mix of pride there too but in a sick sort of way that doesn't want to admit failure.

I don’t understand how. Did your heart break when he helped his papa Palpy, cut off Windu’s hand, kill the younglings, almost force choke his pregnant wife to death? I was jumping for joy when I saw Vader suck on more boulders than a crackhead and it was awesome seeing his helmet get sliced open by a lightsaber (for a second time)

@@ClaimNoName Wow, you clearly didn't keep in tune with the movies. Anakin was trapped by Palpatine. His emotions and attachments clouded his mind and turned him to the dark side. Imagine your best friend suddenly turning into a murderer because he wanted to become powerful enough to save those he loves. But in doing so, ends up destroying them.

@@CactusCowboyDan no my friend, had you been in tune you would have caught perhaps the most important line in the whole series when Palpy says to Anakin in TPM “we will watch your career with great interest”. Why? Because Palpy manipulated Shmi’s pregnancy as well as the midichlorians in Anakin while she was pregnant. They already had cloning down pat. Anakin was Palpy’s project before Anakin was even born and his purpose was for the darkside all along except that Dooku convinced Palpy it’s better to have an apprentice trained by the Jedi first before turning them. In-tune that!

@@zachp1262 the fact that it was Anakin’s voice shows he truly is dead, though, at least for now. It wasn’t the suit, it was fully him and his decisions that brought him to be in the predicament he’s in.

Id disagree kylo has had extremely emotional scenes especially him killing his father,Being unable to kill his mother,and even if its a memory seeing his father again and finally redeeming himself.The sequels have fantastic scenes for emotional effect like luke seeing leia again.

Ewan Mcgreggor and Hayden Christensen Absolutely nailed this scene. You can feel the emotion through the TV screen. The rest of the series was kinda Blah, but the episode is the best thing Disney has put out. Hands down!

I despise Disney for all that they are and what they are doing, but they have their little moments where people would stop and say "Woah, this is actually kinda good." This is one of those moments.

Man when Vader tells anakin as his red lightsaber illuminates his Sith eyes "the same way, I will destroy you!"....gave me chills to hear Anakins voice then Vader at the end of the phrase.

The flashbacks make this scene more devastating 😭😭😭😭

The way the lighting fades from blue to red.” You didn’t kill anakin skywalker… I Did.” We know that it’s not anakin talking but Darth and I love it.

Anakin's story is very sad, & this scene was the saddest in all its history, Anakin admitting it wasn't Obi-Wan's fault but his own. I think Anakin regretted everything, but he didn't give himself a choice considering the bad choices he made. I think the same way Reva regretted working for Vader & turned against him, Anakin/Vader turned against the Emporer & threw him into the shaft. (I hate Disney, but good story writing)

Its not good writing, the Kenobi series is consistently terrible. This whole excuse for a "duel" is copied from Rebels, and they put that scene in to absolve Obi Wan of all flaws and reinforce the idea he is essentially perfect. Boring. Gary Stu.

You can hear the self hatred on his voice when he says i am what remains. And then darth gloating about killing anakin… so heartbreaking 😭😭😭

We all have a Vader inside us. And what Anakin went through is enough to bring it out for any of us. And it was gut wrenching to see obi wan has to suffer while he looks apon his defeated student for a second time

What a moving moment this was. There is still a fraction of Anakin left in him here, and he’s trying so hard not to reveal it fully, but you can see and feel the torment he’s going through internally. It really is such a sad story - Vader. Everything he did, was for Padme. Turning against the Jedi, turning to the dark side, becoming a Sith Lord, slaughtering the younglings, betraying Mace Windu and of course his brother Obi-Wan. All of these terrible things were driven purely by his desire to save his wife from death. What would you do to save your loved ones?? On the outside Vader is a monster, but really all he is, is a human being. So sad 😞

He didn't do that entirely for Padmé, it was also for himself, he didn't want to feel powerless again and to go through another grief He chose a path he thought could save him and his lover, but yeah as you said, he found torment and self-hatred

“I am what remains” we can all relate to this. Go through trauma through your life that makes you change part of who you are. Killing your old self and then the damaged trauma riddled self is what remains. One day to reconcile with your demons and eventually return to your old self. If you’re lucky to live that long. What a tough line

Even though he turned to the dark side you can sence that there is so much conflict in Vader.

Ahhh piping hot fresh heartbreak. Nicely done, has echoes of "Obi-Wan Has PTSD" (which could theoretically be redone with Kenobi scenes added for even more heartbreak)

This series was the best thing to come out of the Star Wars universe. And this scene is a big part of that.

You shouldn’t have caught off the scream because I truly do feel that’s not Vader doing it out of rage but anakin doing it out of desperation wanting to be killed so he doesn’t suffer anymore and can be with padme again

In time Anakin and Padme will be reunited in the force after he destroys Palpatine and saves their son Luke.

Their relationship is so tragic man

You ever look at old pictures of yourself and wonder what happened to that person… When that line is uttered, “Anakin is Gone…I am what remains…” That shit hard…

The story in star wars is just unbelievable. I wish OT could happen 20 years later, so that we could get better lightsaber duels there, that would show the true power of vader and it would be all. Every time I think about star wars, I think about such a huge potential that Anakin lost and it is nostalgic af.

A man who learns gentle love can also be taught murderous rage until their actions become nothing more than pain inflicted on themselves.

I been watching this... Its very heartbreaking. You did a very good job on putting this together.

While you could give him some blame for Anakin's mom ahoska and Jedi councils treatment of Anakin. Padmes death is on Vader because she lost the will to live after realizing what the man she loved had become. That one isn't on obi wan

Also maybe Padme death on him since he snuck on her ship when she went go save Anakin. Not believing Padme could have brought Anakin back by herself.

Shmi was tortured by the Tuskens for *weeks* before she died. How hard would it have been to just allow Anakin to see if she was OK? I don't buy Obi Wan's half-assed apology here. I also hate how the writing is designed to absolve him of all wrongdoing and reinforce the idea he is perfect.

Pain and suffering and death it couldn't be padme it was about himself the pain and suffering he had to deal with after the death of Anakin Skywalker. All the memories and suffering he dealt to himself and all the pain he cause for himself and others the death of the ones that Anakin love that Vader killed them. The amount of stress is what killed Skywalker and gave birth to Darth Vader

How do you get the 5.1 audio to do things like the voices in the beginning ?

Qui Gon’s force ghost should have spoken to Anakin when he was worried about Padme in Episode III

Kinda sad reading comments, if you read the comics, you see ALOT of anakins feelings, sorrow, anger afterwards, you'all should read the comics, you see and can read more about hes thoughts,feelings and everything. Its nice seen more of a conflicted vader/anakin, cus they dont show it at all in the movies/series. Sad to see so many people who doesnt read the comics! spoiler: Vader visits hes wife grave for ex. Alot of memories that shows a conflicted Anakin-vader.

The Obi-Wan series is definitely the highlight of all the Star Wars stuff that Disney's produced. They should stick to stuff like this, instead of making movies like The Rise Of Shitwalker!

Anakin is probably the most well written fictional character ever.

I know Anakin did some horrid things; but someone, anyone, sincerely, *tearfully* apologizing to him for all the pain he lived through? Especially Obi-Wan? That meant a lot to me.

They should have shown stuff from the Clone Wars.

For me, the Disney interaction of Obi-wan and Anakin seemed a bit off. The writing was in the wrong style. They therefore weren't George's characters, rather they were Disney adaptations using the same actors.
