I actually really like your stance on divorce and marriages. I know a lot of people don't believe in divorces, however, Imo, in some relationships it's better to get divorced than to stay in a marriage that's clearly not working out. Some marriages you can work out, but not all. If it gets to the point abuse is involved, people should get a divorce. If it gets to the point where coming home brings you stress because of your partner, you need to get a divorce. Anyone reading this please remember: marriage is about being happy not miserable.

It's better to come out of a bond which isn't working. Just do. As you said that's the clear indication of a bad relationship when your spouse's arriving brings you discomfort.

I'm so in love with the detail of desi wedding attire. It puts a lot of western outfits to shame imo (as a westerner, I was floored by the colours and detail of these kinds of bridal looks when one of my Indian friends first showed me). They're so vivid and vibrant and joyful whilst still so elegant, I much prefer them over the white / pastel colours and much more simple jewelry of the general western approach.

You're so right. If I ever got married I think I wouldn't wear a white dress no matter what. Even if white does look somewhat good on me I still wouldn't wear it. I mean it does wash me out a bit according to my optician who told me to avoid light couloured glasses and to stick to the dark browns and blacks. Also I have a pale olive complexion so it makes sense. I think I'd would either wear a pastel dress or completely trash the norm and show up in dress pants a shirt and my favourite h&m cream coloured floral blazer if I will have not thrown it away by that point. It's a wedding! You're supposed to have fun and celebrate. Not look like you're about to go to a gala or a funeral.

​@@nikitatavernitilitvynova It seems that ecru & creamy yellowish (or even peachy off-white) dresses are becoming more popular these days, likely for this reason that many people have figured out they don't actually suit pure white lol. Queen Victoria's reign is over now, so no need to dress in white based on (literally) Victorian notions of purity if you don't want!

I honestly felt relobed when you talked about divorces cuz my dad is cheating on my mom and she is a housewife so we are dependant on him and I literally had no other girl in this situation and as an indian I just felt relieved.

My dad used to cheat so often that if my mom hadn’t been working we would’ve been dead by now. Props to you and your mother for being so brave!! Just study and get out of there that’s the advice I give to every brown girl.

I need more in depth (longer) videos!!!! I struggle so much with choosing the "correct" colors when I use eyeshadow. Like, how do I know if I have to pick the colors diagonally or the shade next to each other etc.? Would love to see a video from you (horizontal) on how to pick the "right" colors and how to build up an eyeshadow look. LOVE YOU

So cute! I’m Indian and did my own wedding makeup because I had a pandemic at-home wedding. I didn’t get to go all out on a desi look though (my husband is also white and since it was at home we only really got to do a quick civil ceremony with the white dress). I like the way that look turned out - not *too much* and probably what I’d have gone for too (but a brighter red lip for me). Also, kudos to your parents for realizing what was best for them and going for that. Divorce really is still such an unfortunate taboo, but I know lots of couples - especially from my parents’ generation - that stayed together and were just miserable.

cannot be just a desi wedding if it’s not just desi cultures involved. i hope we start to normalize respecting each culture in a wedding because i see so many desi people whether man or woman, just have desi customs and the white person or non desi person just tag along… which is sweet but sad. I want to also see their culture and customs be rejoiced in the union.

Red bindi doesn't mean a married woman -back in the day everyone used to wear bindi using kumkum-holy vermilion , vibhoothi -holy ash and sandal-turmeric paste.

How did it turn out?

I got electrolysis done on my face to remove hair. It helped with acne also Been using Neutrogena retinol for over 2 years and my scars and acne is under control I also use peptide moisturizer from first aid beauty.

Where on earth did you get that jewelry? Who is the maker? Do they have an online presence? Every thing looks marvelous!! 😍

You can pretty much find this in every Pakistan and indian markets or stalls! Also they are not really expensive tbh (unless you buy designer one)

When you do hair removal on your face put aloe gel it reduces breakouts. I do that and it stopped all the nasty red breakouts I’d get from hair removal.

If your skin breaks out after you shave it, put deodorant on it to prevent razor burn (I learned from a vogue photographer). Diaper cream should also work (which I use for deodorant).

@@ananasbanana The zinc oxide in it kills odor causing bacteria. I use burts Bees brand because it has a few extra ingredients I like. I put it on twice per week, and my sister uses it once per week. When it starts to wear off, it does so slowly. One $8 tube can last 2 years or more.

I never married, but there is this one time I wore a necklace in my late 20s or 30, and the pendant was on my forehead. A guy asked if I was Hindu! 😂😂😂😂😂 At the time I was a God believer who was, to say I was in absolute denial about what level of a sinner I was is an absolute understatement. I was well beyond worse than that. I am 47 now, and I still got the looooongest way to go, but I did make some changes though.
