Thanks for the video! Retired as a military pilot 24 years ago. When we started we had "whistle stop" radios!! LOL GCA was the king at that time! Decca, Omega and, of course, Doppler!! Congrats on the new stuff! Would not put you through what we used for anything! Again, thanks for the video!

Nav 1 Radio connects to localizer. You can use Nav 1 or 2 radio for DME/VOR ADF is used when you are tuning in a NDB station

On government plates it is on the header with the approach name, as well as the minimums. You'll see different minimums for different categories.

When you're passing the Faf (final approach fix) you tune the ils/localizer freq on your Nav 1, also you need to tune it on you DME, to check the distance from your threshold.

Arnoldo León wrong. The LOC frequency is tuned long before beginning the approach. You're not doing anything at the FAF besides configuring for landing and continuing down the gs.

you need to get the runway ILS frequency and make sure on the APP plate it says CATIII and you need a course in your situation

Hi there. I have seen various explanations about how the ILS works and in some it says that the antenna transmits two beams, one with and the other without carrier. Others say it transmits 3 beams, one with carrier, one without and the third is a 180deg phase shifted version of the second. The explanation about the receiver is that if it doesn't receive a signal, it is centered. There seem to be a lot of discrepancies about this. Does some maybe have any idea about this ?

Mr Renegade ILS has 2 sub systems. Localizer and Glide slope. Both sub systems radiate what’s called CSB and SBO. Both signals are modulated with 90 and 150Hz. There’s a lot more to the ILS to type but this is some some basic info.

I am confused 🤐 if there is a frequincy band for localiser and frequincy band for glide so what is the 90 hz and 150hz ? in other word if these tow signals can moved the nedles why we need the other frequinces?

9:17 The pilot should not 'fly up' to capture the GS as this results in an unstable approach in the vertical. Rather, the pilot halts his descent until the GS needle comes in. Above all, it is about situational awareness, how far along on the approach and so on. As an approach is to a landing, which obviously necessitates a descent, to climb up toward the GS is to result in altitude excursions and attendant power settings which themselves result in an unstable approach. Not the least is this contributes to too much work for the pilot while so near to a landing. In a word, it's foolishness.

In the same segment the left localizer course is yellow for 90Hz.. The glideslope would need to have yellow on the top for 90 Hz. They have it backwards.
