Ati-Atihan festival is a feast to show gratitude of the Malay tribes to Aeta (Ati) tribes who gave them the land. They painted their skin black and put on kinky wig on their head to imitate Aeta looks including in the dance movement. 😍

Mga Iloilo favorite soup ang nag Champion,,, Pancit Molo Parianon sa Dinagyang dance at La Paz Batchoy naman sa Ilomination

In my non-so-expert opinion..my champion is tribu familia sagrada.. They brought the old essence of true dinagyang.. Wala masyado props or risers.. Very nostalgic just pure ati story.. Kudos to this tribe.. Wala ako kakilala jan pero ito panalo sakin.. Reminiscing an old dinagyang

I really wish there's a choreographer out there that could trim off the props, reduce the team, spend more on the tribe's full war regalia with spears and shields, and go hard on the synchronization of movement as one full unit ala back in the 80s i.e Tribu Kongo, Binirayan and such. The whole platoon moved as one with each boom, like a heartbeat, each thrust of their spears hits every bass with purpose and power! I miss those performances. It gave me goosebumps as a kid watching it. No props, no different groups taking shifts upfront, just great synchronization and moving as one unit - one tribu!

You need to watch it in the judging area like freedom grandstand or other judging stages. You can buy ticket online just search iloilo city government dinagyang ticket for sale. Or in hotels you can also buy. If you cannot buy ticket you can see the tribe in downtown area but limited actions happens. They perform only in judging areas. You will go to see them as early as 6am you need to enter the areas where they perform because it is so traffic and it is close to the vehicle so before 6am you need to be in freedom grandstand

Dinagyang 2023 have 8 tribes

Bakit walang out of town sumali from MINDANAO region, surigao, Leyte, samar , masbate, at some parts of luzon ,at negros? Bakit 8 tribes lang? Akala ko ba best in tourism to hehe ✌️ pero sa sinulog daming contingents hehe coming from some parts of Mindanao , leyte , masbate at etc 🤣 sana magawa din yan ng dinagyang hehe kasi parang semi aliwan na kasi ang sinulog in terms of festivals na dumayo para mka compete☺️☺️☺️

Baka me rules sila na from iloilo city alone lang ang dapat mag compete para ang mananalo ay sya ang mag mag represent ng iloilo city sa aliwan at syempre taga iloilo talaga mang galing.pero dont worry po bibigyan kita ng feedback soon bakit wlang dayo sa a,ing dinagyang but im sure sa taga iloilo city palang na barangay tribu ..pang world class napo ang performance kaya satisfied lahat ng bisita lalo ang bgo palang naka experience ng event.
