The shift + delete anchor point tool is a holy grail. I've never seen anything so handy before in my 6 years of using base illustrator. Thanks for showing it to me.
I'm a pretty intermediate Illustrator user, but this helped me SO much with how to make the process easier! The shortcuts save me so much time!
Great tutorial. Lots of good technical stuff in a sort space. Also I really appreciated the simple explanations of why you made certain artistic decisions. Thanks.
awesome tutorial, that's probably the most useful 8 minutes of illustrator information I've had
I have been designing for 4 years and I still learned new stuff just from this video! Nice tips! Thank you!

Wow, I had no idea that you can retain the curve if you hold Shift while deleting an anchor point. Why am I only finding out about this now? Thanks so much, that will save me so much time !

hello, can you explain to me why it cancels the curve even if I hold down shift? another question, sorry if it is trivial but I started recently, what is the reason of eliminating the anchor point? Thanks in advance

@@matteopascali5748 It's just for easy editing. Most of time extra anchor points have no harm.

@@braxtonbrown1311 I don't know what happened. I tried to do this again right now and it doesn't seem to work. I swear it worked before. Could it be something in the settings or maybe Illustrator updated and something changed?

I watched this two years a go and today I needed to draw something but I'm very bad at drawing so I remembered your video so I came back for it and now I find it very useful! thanks dude!
dude your tutoral is easy to follow! it's crystal clear on what to do, you voice it out so great too.
Excellent tutorial! I'm new at this, but I want to create my own logo from scratch. I'm looking forward to the process.

Just discovered this video - very clever! Thanks for the subtle tips on rounding the corners!

Such an amazing, short, simple tutorial, thanks a lot for this! ✨
Excellent tutorial showing the proper way to trace logos in Illustrator
Would love it if you continue this series...the best thing i ever saw on KZread❤️
Thanks for the great tutorial, super helpful as always 🤙🏼
I like how he explained the other way o adjusting the edges with the width tool, but went on to explain why it might not be a good idea for this specific example.
Super solid tutorial by the way! Taught me so much in just 8 minutes.
Cool! Also, when you place the image, check "template" it will lock the layer and give it some transparency automatically. And create a new layer to boot :)
That was great I never knew about the round out corner fearure!
So informative! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us ♥
Bless you for a tutorial that doesn't come across as taught by someone on crack & threatens to give me a seizure due to its ridiculous manic speed that often leaves out critical steps and info for beginners. Showing us how to do things easier and quicker while SHOWING the explanation as to why is critical for learning, as well repetition of steps to help get it ingrained in our heads. You got a new sub, cheers!
I didn't know about Shift+Delete. That's a game changer! Thank you.
Very nice info! You turned me on to a few illustrator techniques I did not know about! Thanks for making such an easy-to-follow tutorial.
You can achieve this quickly using the Golden Ratio technique.

The technique is great the tip of retaining the shape after you delete the points was something new in my 12+ years as a brand developer lol. U learn something every day!
Thank you!! Haven’t started using illustrator yet, but your videos are preparing me!
good option for tracing is to place the graphic, double click its layer and select the template option. this reduces the opacity to 50% by default and locks the layer
Wonderful tutorial, it's just what I was looking for. The tips about Object Expand and rounding corners will be a great help on my project. Thanks!
Awesome work👍🏼 Thank you for the tutorial!

thanks i never think that will work so good job!
This was super helpful; thank you!!
you can also do the following for tracing: 1. make the image greyscale/grayscale (mode change in photoshop) in order to be able to colour/color it in illustrator using a swatch of your choice, so for example you could make the image orange. No need for opacity change. You can also set the layer to dim image to your liking by double clicking the layer where the image is kept (in the layer panel), this double click gives you the layer options....a template option is also available in there too.... 2. put the image on its own layer and lock it. 3.make another layer for the actual tracing and then set the layer to keyline mode by control-clicking that layer's icon for visibility (in the layers panel). this means that, in my example, you will trace black lines that are super thin (regardless of zoom level) against an orange image - plenty contrast. this method works well for tracing images at full opacity and having the best contrast for following detail.
