This is the right step. Newjeans never copied any song chord progression, lyrics, beats, tune of songs, even dance steps, and anything music related from the Mexico band. They just happened to have the word 'Jeans' in their names. Let me ask you, if some band has a word 'Boys' in their names like The Beach Boys, does that mean, no one can use 'Boys' too in their names? What about Backstreet Boys? Beastie Boys? Pet Shop Boys? Really NEW concept should have some protection, but I do not see how one could claim exclusivity on inspiration by past era / artist or events.

After reading all the comments here, I realized I am an outsider in this situation. Yes, MHJ is at fault. But I see all Hybe who’s involved here at fault too. Hopefully they resolved this matter before someone’s life gets snatched again.😅

ILLIT didn't even plagiarize according to the real definition. MHJ knows fans (she calls them brainless kids) will believe her cause they are supersensitive whenever plagiarism is said. 0:32 she said it's not cause of the hair. i mean she can't anyway. 0:36 same artist/style or something? I looked at it and would have never connected the two together. Looks way different. 0:39 that goes for most k-pop groups. they have similarities to BTS too but no one said anything. Other companies will use dance forms from other dancers too. Dancers actually use similar dance moves but with varying execution/interpretation. The technique/execution of ILLIT's moves are actually different, more poppy. 1:00 ILLIT concept is basically opposite of NJ. Does MHJ expect a bubble pop fairy concept to be the same as her soft urban R&B? They are quite different. The center of ILLIT looks like a doll, which basically symbolizes ILLIT going in a different direction. Btw, if you didn't know why she could make a wide variety of accusations (even unrelated topics) in the press conference, it's because she prepared fake allegations for her initial takeover heist, but since the heist failed all of that prep became useless, so she just blurted everything she prepared for the press conference instead (don't waste it right? lol dumb move cause now she gets sued.). For people who mentioned about Newjeans copied Jeans are really dumb. You could also just say Jeans copied Spice Girl. And all the group who does girl crush concept in Kpop are a copy of 2ne1. As for Boy group such as BTS they must as well be labelled as a copy of Big Bang then with that logic. In Korea Newjeans actual name is “New Genes” for new generations. They used Jeans to replace genes as it stands for never be out of fashion. Their group concept already specified that it’s set to 90s-y2k style and modernised it. The problem here is Belift Lab copied the steps/procedures known as the production formula of ADOR in producing Newjeans in Illit. Not just some concept accusation but “Steps and procedures”.

Notice how its know nothing know-it-all intl fans are complaining against MHJ. And acting like they know everything about the matter. While almost the entire korea is behind MHJ. Belift and Hybe may have intl fans but its KPOP after all, the keyword is K means korea not intl. or global. That's why Hybe stock is on the down spiral because korean trust to Hybe is down too. So all of you know nothing know-it-all opinion don't matter here.

What MHJ is doing is benefit for disadvantaged kids? Girl literally worked at SM a big3 company where as long as you get in, you don't have to worry about succeeding. You know who under privileged? A company that was almost bankrupt, a ceo who trusted the unknown boys and took a huge investment for them, a group that didn't get any opportunities to showcase their talent bcz they r not from big3, a group that solely relied on their fans and their talent to get where they are now. Understand which group I'm talking about? Yes BTS, the one on who's success MHJ and NewJeans are riding now. You want to know struggles? The girls had luxury and didn't have to worry about food or depts. Didn't have to work jobs while training. What struggles did NJ specially go through? Your shitting on the same label and group that got you and NJ where they are now.

This why knet or fans should wait if you think HYBE do nothing... HYBE is a big company(conglomerate) they cant take action without any prepare for counterattack.. Just wait for the result and keep support your fav group👍
