Ant Wright, what have you heard on Terrence Shannon, Courtney Ramey, Nahiem Alleyne or Ricky Council IV? Council out of Wichita State is another long 2 guard, who can D and attack the rim.

I swear Curbello oils his shoes!!! Every game I see him slip like at least twice a game and sometimes more. He slips right into a turnover. I saw 3 times just today!!! Edit: Ain't nobody else slipping around!

@@waynedavis3572 Curbello is a strange player. He makes some of the most spectacular plays I've ever seen, then he comes down court and makes the dumbest play I've ever seen haha. And he does it multiple times a game along with slipping and sliding!

This was a Perfect Loss for Chattanooga, now they stand on both sides Winning against Furman the way they did & now losing the way they did to Illinois.

Chattanooga's offense seemed to develop cerebral palsy the last 5 minutes

Illinois missed a lot of open shots that they don't normally miss. If they get that together they will be fine. Also I think one of the things that get Big Ten teams in trouble during this tournament is how much softer they call fouls, so they may have to start hitting those outside shots, because they aren't going to be able to defend and play the inside game like they are use too.

Long time Illinois fan here. To all the other Illinois fans wake up please. They have not played well in over a month. Guard play has been horrendous. Too many missed shots underneath the basket by our big men. Houston is one of the best defensive teams in the country. In my opinion it doesn't look good. Chattanooga should have won this game. They out played out hustled the illini. My hats go off to the Chattanooga team and fans.

ole Debbie downer focus on the good, Hawkins has come to life, this is how this ILLINI team play and wins "SCRAPY" ill take the ILLINI in any close tough game especially in a none big ten game, i mean look at the Arizona game, we lost but we were there. And the last 5 games of the season were all close I think the Mich game we won by more the 5 but it was a close game. I say it again "SCRAPY"

@@destinye277 Hawkins had multiple unforced turnovers and missed free throws and obvious frustration fouls that almost cost us the game just slapping the opponent because he missed a ridiculous shot that he forced. he fills up the stat sheet but does not have enough composure this year to be a replacement for grandison. when he matures I think he can be great. but yeah unfortunately illinois needs to get everyone going in order to beat Houston and thst hasn't happend for illinois in a long while.

I had a similar thought, but Chat missed SO MANY “easy” put-backs in the 2nd half. While watching, I kept thinking “How do you miss that?!?” Same with ILL’s 1st half FTs. Also, how many layups did ILL attempt? Definitely single digits. As an ILL fan, I was comfortable throughout 0% of this game. Frazier needs to do something. Curbelo needs to stop falling over & taking bad shots.

Illinois and Wisconsin finished that season with a share of the Big 10 title but you pretty much knew neither were going very far after their opening tournament games. Wisconsin struggled to beat Colgate in what pretty much ended up being a true home game while Illinois did just enough to survive against Chatanooga after trailing most of the game. It was no surprise both when both got eliminated in the round of 32.

Last year the first game was no test for the Illini. It was the 2nd game in which that turned up empty against Loyola, unable to make their shots. Maybe they'll be more prepared vs. their next team. Still, Illinois has shown surprising weaknesses this year, losing to Indiana (with a losing record) in the Tournament and appearing helpless in both games against Purdue.

Don't know why the mocs didn't challenge cockburns block shot that was obviously a goal tend and Reggie even said it was a goal tend. I like Illinois too but Mocs won that game!

One play. Big deal. There were many other non-calls. Mocs hacked their way through the game using 3 players fouling Kofi for a total of 11 fouls made on just Kofi alone. Even then the refs did not call all the fouls. If they had, there would have been more foul-outs and your scrubs would have had to finish the game. Illini would have won by 20. That strategy is not basketball, it's hockey.

you really are saying that foul was bs but the foul just before that on malachi Smith was a good call? every analyst who showed highlights literally made a point of showing how bad of a call the refs made on kockburn going straightup in the air with his hands up playing textbook defense. thst is how you teach kids to play and not get called for a foul. the refs made bad calls all game unfortunately including 2 missed goaltending one each way.

Half of this Illini win was the defense....other half was pure dumb luck (and a bit of clutch 3s)....been following the big ten all year (gf is an ohio state fan...and a rabid one...) She claims that illini have the talent to be in the final four but the inconsistency of going out in the first round...depends on what team you will get....latter didnt happen....so what happens now? Seen it many times in many sports....a tough win may JUST be enough to get a team going...happened many times...as for people that claim Houston will destroy illini....Kentucky was supposed to be a final four team....you just dont know until the game is over...thats why you play it...Houston may not be able to hit a shot while...lets say...Williams of all people scores 35....just dont know....thats why you play the game....good luck to both teams regardless.

Behind by 1 with 10 seconds left and Smith (4-20 FG and 0-3 3pt) is strolling up the court. I guess he just decided he was going to take the last shot no matter what. What a horrible way to end the season. We had a guy like that on our team. Thank God he transferred. I'm really not a fan of either team. I just hate to see an underdog lose because of a player's over-inflated ego.

He was their best player....cant really argue with it...it was a good look too...just didnt go in...think of it this way would you rather have Michael Jordan take the last shot (not saying he is anywhere near MJ) or Luc Longley? Or if you are fan of baseball....Albert Pujols in his prime at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 9th or Mario Mendoza?

Curbelo had 30 minutes 6 turnovers and 5 points if brad plays him that much next game we might get blown out

On balance, he was a contributor but just barely. He creates havoc for the other team's defense. Trent Frazier is soooooo predictable that when Curbelo comes in after Trent, the other team's players lose their assignments and become unfocused, undisciplined while they try to corral Curbelo's crazy moves. Then when Trent comes back in, the other team over anticipates and overcommits on defense. It doesn't look like it works but it does. He is a disrupter, sometimes to his own team. Curbelo should start and then Trent come in to settle things down.

It was changed a few possessions later....went from 42 to 41...

This game was rigged and scripted. Why did Jacob Grandison play off the bench and play only 9 minutes and have no field goal attempts and score no points? Especially since he averaged during the season 9.6 points per game and shot 45.5% from the field. Why did Trent Frazier shoot 0-6 from the field, 0-5 from 3 point range, and score only 2 points in 32 minutes played? Especially since he averaged during the season 11.6 points per game. Why was Da’monte Williams starting and playing 28 minutes in the game especially when he average only 3.9 points per game during the regular season? The reasons is because the game was rigged and scripted.

I guess the no call on the goal tending did make a difference. Way to go refs!

Chattanooga won the game officially! The idiots refs missed the goaltending the first half that means Chattanooga really won the game by 1 point not Illinois! Refs blew it again! Chattanooga coach should've demanded that be looked at even the tv commentator said that was a goaltending refs missed it bigtime!
