Head-turning wasn’t annoying at all; realistic and interesting. Like your comments/input. The Macchi is a beautiful craft to look at. Saving this to my “favs” folder.

Ah, an excellent plane for an excellent sortie. The macchi is such a sexy plane, especially with it's canopy gone. Scharfi gave me the advice to fly with 20-30% flaps when in those turn fights with the Russians just to get a bit more stability and avoid the sudden stalls.

Wonderful Sortie, Six - and in one of my absolute favourite birds, too. The Italian Convertible doesn't get enough recognition. Nor does it, in both our experience, get recognized as a friendly enough. I'm calling maneuver kills on those I-16, making this a damn successful sortie!

I like your style of flying. It make's videos really enjoyable, and keeps me gritting my teeth at these crazy dog fights. I got into IL-2 because of Sheriff's SimShack, and he's a very safe pilot, often hardly ever having to do more than one pass on a target he spends a bit more time lining up. I realize in real combat he'd probably have the longer survival record, but there's nothing like watching a nice back and forth.

Thanks, I watch Sheriff a lot also, I try to fly to the aircrafts strengths but sometimes I just want to get in a turn fight and have some fun

your way to fly is close to mine in my 190, almost always low near level, you don't have time to climb that you spot another bandit and you go for him like a hungry boar, i like this ;)

It was Lotus, you didn't blur out enough.

Regardless of your method mate, the open canopy perspective makes the flight more scenic. Not to mention allowing you to better appreciate German ordnance mid flight. Nice vid champ.

Pretty common mistake I think attacking a Macchi, because they aren't really commonly used, but usually people realize their mistake when they "encure a penalty for firing on a friendly." Good stuff though, besides the sirens calling all the I-16s into the depths you were riding the razor edge with that wing stalling prone Italian nightmare admirably.

It was just wishful thinking, it can cause the gun crews to abandon their Gun in some cases in game, but I have no idea about the ships in game I was just trying to help the attacking BF110's

Nice job. I think the Macchi is under-appreciated. Even 2nd rate 50 cals are still 50 cals. . .

Yes Old Guard, I believe you are very correct it is formidable, 2 x .50 cal is plenty considering how many rds you get to throw and how manoeuvrable it is so you get plenty of opportunities to hit the target :D but most importantly just like you are hinting towards, it is very often under estimated by the Reds

thanks mate I do appreciate you taking the time to tell me, I use the VKBsim Gladiator, just the normal version not the 'Pro'. The Pro does not have rudder twist, the normal gladiator does have the wrist twist. I'll screen shot my settings and put it at the beginning of my next video :) but they're pretty standard

It can be difficult at first but, it's just one of those things that improves quickly if you take notice of do a little practice, or it will develop slowly from just playing the game and watching videos helps also :)

Plane seems a bit twitchy, but does not actually do anything rude like high-speed stall, snap roll, spin etc. That could be the pilot, of course.

Get a FFB joystick so you can feel buffeting as you ride the edge of a stall, many times you pulled too hard or fast and dropped a wing. Without FFB it is pretty much guesswork.

Lee Vincent thanks, I have thought about it, it was a little exaggerated by the fact that this was only my 3rd or 4th sortie in the aircraft so while I was happy with my performance I completely understand that some more experienced sim pilots may just be thinking why, thank you for the comment and construct and thoughtful critique :)

Lee Vincent which FFB would you recommend? I have a Logitech extreme 3D pro and it's not really optimized for IL-2 and also if you could recommend a good head track IR I would be very grateful.

I bought a MSFFB2 USB and modded a CH Combatstick using a Teensy LC board. It appears as two separate joysticks but I absolutely love it. Similar to this mod: theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/attachment.php?s=4625dd4aeff9ebf52fe595adb2418311&attachmentid=17274&d=1431578886
