The submitter said they retreated once in the email. Never retreat with this army. Just get to a corner like always and when the enemy gets close then you retreat. Usually you'll do so much damage in the first battle that the enemy won't even attack you the second time.

It was a while since I played, but doesn't battle-retreating with artillery comes with a random chance of losing it? Unless they changed it.

@@jakubklis6797 Well, I'm actually not sure. I can tell you that never happened to me, but that doesn't mean I wasn't just lucky. I know you can take arty if it's of your faction and you have an open spot, but I'm not sure about just losing one on retreat. Honestly though, if it's a disaster battle scenario (which is the only time you would do this) a small chance of losing an arty piece is probably worth the risk.

Every defeat, regardless of how the battle went, risks losing items and entire artillery pieces. I really dislike doing that unless I think I have literally no other option.

@@jakubklis6797 Yes i think but from what i know they need to have an open slot and it needs to be suitable, so HE arty and DE arty or dwarf grudge throwers and greenskins or it has to be same faction, i dont know which arty plagueclaw catapults classify as but i will check EDIT: Greenskins, Dwarves and Skaven can steal it and it classifies as a Grudge Thrower kind i guess, taken from a forum post

That nuke inflicted almost 1k casualties! If you add up all the kills from Legend's units and substract the total casualties, you get 936 casualties unaccounted for. Now some could be from the summons, but not a lot.

It's funny you mention in the video that you were surprised the army loss penalty hadn't kicked in yet. That's one thing I've noticed in Warhammer III compared to Warhammer II is the amount of damage the AI is willing to take before army loss kicks in. Even when fighting weak moral factions, it seems like you've got to really wipe them out before the AI is willing to concede. Maybe others have noticed differently but that's been my experience so far.

Pretty sure army loss penalty works the exact same way it did in TWW2: remove 78% of enemy combat potential and have 2,6 times higher CP yourself

I would guess the Army Loss Penalty was delayed because #1 It's an End Game Crisis. +Boost Stats. #2. Since it's an End Game Crisis, all of their units have high value in terms of Balance of Power. AKA a bigger ratio, percentile you gotta take a chunk out of to trigger the Army Losses. My guess*

The best way to engage wood elves is to do it from the under way. Whenever I'm invading Athel Loren I will underway right next to their cities, declare war and they then attack me on their turn. A well built weapon team steak can take on any number of wood elf army's from the underway
