IKEA's Cheapest Gaming Chair. Good Deal?

In this review, we'll be taking a look at the cheapest gaming chair from IKEA so you can see if it's a good deal for you. The Huvudspelare gaming chair comes with a couple basic mechanisms which are a tilt tension knob, a tilt function and a height adjustment lever. As IKEA classifies this as a gaming chair, you would want something to be comfortable to sit on for at least a couple hours. Unfortunately, after testing out this IKEA gaming chair there are some issues that make it uncomfortable. I found the seat cushion to be too thin to sit comfortably for longer periods of time. As for the armrests, they are made out of plastic so leaning your arms on them isn't that comfortable. But on a good note, at least the backrest supported by back pretty well as it comes with a tight mesh design. Overall, the price seems pretty fair for what you get out of this IKEA chair but comfort wise, I wouldn't recommend it if you're going to sit on it for longer periods of time.

"gaming chair" I have had this chair for about 18 months, before giving it away to my parents in law. I went with a real gaming chair, but eventually it broke down (within a year). For me, being 2 meters tall [or 39.4~ish inch] or [6ft 6.7 inch], the chair is a bit on the small side when it comes to the armrests. I'm also a bit heavy (not plumpy/chubby, I'm 130kg and have pretty darn good abs, if you know what I mean). Next to that, both my arm and legs are on the longer side compared to other people my length. As you may know, Dutch people are known as the tallest people on earth regularly. For me, apart from the armrest, this chair does a very good job for a tall person like me with the kilo's I bear with me. The kushen seat is good enough for me and to bear with the long seat, I put a flat kushen under my lap for comfortable days. I work from home and need a good chair. However, chairs (especially office chairs) here in the Netherlands are extremely expensive. Hence the reason I'm, probably, going back to this chair. This week the chair is available for 50 euro, 10 euro less than what I paid for the previous one about 1,5-2 years ago. Next year I'll be getting a Noblechairs one, so this one will go into my studio most likely. For me, who doesn't use the armrests AT ALL, that feature doesn't mean anything to me. My current chair, one from CLP (Amazon), that sits pretty well but belongs to my wife, has soft armrests but I also don't use them. Because I'm too tall for pretty much ALL chairs. I had a Herman Miller back in the 00s, but despite its 900 euro pricemark, it wasn't for me.

I got this for 60 bucks, just finished asembling it. I find it way more practical than my previous 150$ gaming chair, in which I would sweat like I was showering during summer.

It's a good chair for the price, but considering the back barely has any padding, you're really gonna want the neck pillow that IKEA pairs it with.

Yeah, but with that neck pillow I can't get the upper part of my back to lean against the top part of the backrest properly

I did a quick comparison at our Ikea store, the cheaper Flintan chair has slightly thicker seat foam and I prefer the more upright angle of the Flintan seat as well. Also, I'm not sure about the mesh finish on the seat when it comes to cleaning it.

I haven't tried the mesh netting chairs but I am betting it's better than secret labs farbic. That tore for me on the seat. I also hate those pu armrests as they cracked on it. I don't particulary like pu chairs either as they will crack over time.

I’ve used it for nearly 2 years. My legs aren’t comfortable and it’s the only problem I had

Are you able to cross your legs in the chair? I like to cross my legs a lot and am worried the arm supports won't allow you to
