IKEA Hacks - Living Room Furniture Edition!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I love a good IKEA hack, and our living room got three of my favorite furniture IKEA hacks yet! I used IKEA pieces as the bases to build a coffee table with storage, a fluted sideboard, and a massive console table for behind the sofa!
FAQ:
The Sofa table nightstands used are IKEA Malm
The Fluted Doors used on the sideboard are IKEA Bjorkoviken

Thank you so much, Lori!! The sideboard had been my favorite ikea hack for awhile, but I agree with you, the sofa table just beat it out haha
That sofa table is stunning. I had no clue it was five nightstands. It looks like one solid piece. Well done! I'm taking inspo from this and making my own.

I'm new to your channel and thought I'd let you know I think you're doing a fantastic job. The transformations of the original Ikea items into these expensive looking pieces of furniture is nothing short of amazing. Congratulations on what you are doing. Also, I think it's great that your children are growing up seeing their mum doing all this hard work and getting to see that it's not only men that do handiwork etc. I wish you much success in your future.

Wow! Beautifully done. I love the storage you created. I'm building a TV/storage wall in my living room out of base cabinets. Thanks for the inspiration and tips. Love the rounded ends on the fluted piece. It softens the lines of the fluted piece. Great tutorial😊❤

Never too late to learn something new!
Would it be possible to just use wood looking contact paper to do the furniture piece behind the couch?
Hi Annie, I really enjoyed your video and want to attempt to build the sofa table. I tried to access your blog for the veneer product and amazon edging links, but wasn't able to. Would you mind letting me know the amazon link for the edgining? And are you able to share the measurements for your plywood cuts? Thank you.

Hi, lovely job. With regard to the desk, instead of cutting grooves, could you have used pole wrap?. Thanks

Hi! Yes! You'd just have to create a curved frame to support them, and do something slightly different with the doors so they would match!
Just what I needed.. thanks

@@champagnechaos I finished it, Mine is a bit different. I used three Tonstad cabinets, connected together to make a 97 inch credenza. What's nice is that it has sliding glass doors, which works out great in my dining room where we didn't want doors that swing outwards. After I leveled everything, I attached it to the wall using 2x4s that I attached to the wall first using lag bolts. I then stained it the color that I wanted. Since my house is almost 100 years old, I had to add some strips to the back of the whole thing to meet the wall. I then built a huge 150 pound Mirror wall to go on top. The Mirror wall 4x6 with 24 mirrors I got from Home Depot. I have tiny wooden dowels in between for a rustic feel. Of course, I had to add some support so that the mirror is not just hanging on the wall but supported by the new credenza and then attach that to the wall. It's so pretty. I am so proud of what I created and wanted you to know how you inspired me to make it.

Hello just came upon your channel. Enjoying- thank you. How do you go about starting handling larger power tools and projects , measuring and planning.? Did you take a wood shop class or did you just watch tons of KZread’s? You had to start with some basic tools before the table saw.? Also, video editing does make things seem quick- always nice to know the actual turn times for completion.

Usually you can build it for much less. These kinds of pieces would be at least $500 but if you DIY it, not only can you feel super proud that you made it yourself but it also should save you about 50% of that amount, if not more. And it helps build up your skills using various tools. It's literally a win/win. And this channel is all about DIY so not sure why you're here. 😂🤦🙄
