Ikaruga [MODEROID] [KNIGHT'S & MAGIC] [ナイツ&マジック] [Full Model Kit Build and Custom Paint]

Ойын-сауық

This my second model kit commission completed this year. I had a lot of fun making this and it's refreshing to work on something other than your standard gunpla kit or scale model.
Enjoy the full build process with me.

    You spent 4 months studying with Arves in order to get the knowledge to do this and then took an inmense amount of time and dedication to get this amazing unique robot only for you, just like Ernesti did. Awesome job!

    I use the same 3-way and 4-way sanding sticks from our local Sally's Beauty Supplies. They have the larger size and a much smaller stick (less than 3" long) in the 3-way that is perfect for Gunpla. Very soothing and satisfying video. May need to look into the Moderoid kits now after watching this

    I've really taken a liking to the Tropical Shine stuff. They last quite awhile and are very inexpensive. I'll have to try the larger ones! This was the first Moderoid kit I've ever worked on, it's pretty different from Bandai that's for sure.

    The metallic paint looks so good! Also, did you put a layer of clear coat on before, and after you applied the decals? Or was that on different pieces and I just missed it?

  • @plamomancer

    @plamomancer

    Thank you! I put a layer of clear coat before and after. One to layer the decals on. A glossy surface is easier to apply waterslide decals. The second coat is to seal in the decals and help hide the decal 'step' a bit more.

    Amazing work and production on the video! I saw you have most of the range of madworks chisels. What do you use the ZERO (needle point) for? And are you able to compare it to other brands of needle scribers?

  • @plamomancer

    @plamomancer

    6 ай бұрын

    I mainly use the zero size for starting holes for drilling, or very very small panel lines I need to deepen. The head on this Ikaruga I used that zero size. Only other needle type scriber ive used is the wave ht-250 carving needle, which I prefer to start my lines. I find the madworks zero a bit too sharp for starting my lines.

    why do you take the time to mark them with tape and then proceed to cut everything off the runners?

  • @plamomancer

    @plamomancer

    5 ай бұрын

    The tape in the beginning helps me clearly see the runner label. Just an extra step I like to do to make the initial assembly smoother since there are quite a few.

    Hello there! I saw that you used water slide decals for this kit but the one I bought comes with regular sticker decals on a yellow sheet. Where did you get the water slide decals?

  • @plamomancer

    @plamomancer

    They're the official Good Smile Company waterslide decals for the kit. Unfortunately, they only go up for pre order and are limited. There are some third party options, but I haven't been able to get any. You can check the Good Smile Company website and they might be up for pre order for another run.
