IJN Battleship Yamato | 1:200 Scale Gallery Models | Hull
On this channel we like to do flight simulation, and scale model building. My videos include a wide variety of aircraft and types of flying ranging in everything from small general aviation aircraft to airliners, and military aircraft. I use a variety of different simulators to include Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS), X-Plane, and Digital Combat Simulator (DCS). We also like to test our landing skills at various airports that present their own unique challenges in different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. There are also some flight tutorials for either the real or simulated world, and recreations of some of the worst accidents to better understand what happened, and learn from the past.

Rly helpful. I just went mad and bought the big 3 , Yamato , Missouri and Bismarck , in their 1/200 fit. I worked on smaller models too but left a few things because it looked to hard and made a lot of mistakes (but still fun to work on) and seeing a pro (in my eyes) doing everything step by step and telling why and how is a great help. I started with Missouri and did a lot of mistakes. But learning out of these helps with Bismarck and later with Yamato.

Im so glad my video has been helpful. Best of luck on all those kits. I did the same thing when I got this Yamato kit I also got the Missouri, Endeavor, and Arizona in 1:200 scale.

Nice build so far. Will keep watching it. Thinking about building Yamato too in the future. Build the trumpeter Titanic a year ago but I didn't do the paint job if the hull with an airbrush. I took rattle cans to have it faster. Respect for spraying everything with airbrush, tool hours I guess.

Thanks for the comment. It did take quite a while, but the specific paint I used doesn’t come in a rattle can. If it did I probably would have opted for that to save some time.

Having seen the Kure model in person; the square windows aren't windows, they're air vents. They are square with wire mesh on the outside and a fan on a circular mount behind that.

Looks great and massive until you put it on the water and it's 20ft away.......... it suddenly shrinks and looks small, very thin.

it would be a lot faster if he use a spray paint from Tamiya as it's more of a fine paint when it's come out from a spray can

I thought about that; however I found a more historically accurate Kure Arsenal Gray from Scale Colors that doesn’t come in a spray can. So speed isn’t the name of the game here. I am going for historical accuracy.

I have the older 1:200 Nichimo Yamato kit and the ports in the aft are round and referred to as 'exhaust ports'?!!

Who knows man 🤷🏼‍♂️ at the end of the day it’s your model so do what you want with it. There just isn’t enough information out there about exactly what those were. I opened mine up because the huge one at the museum in Japan are open, but also it will allow a small view inside the boat hanger.

Will you please stop calling it "Yamodo"!! It's YA-MA-TO. Thanks. These hulls seem to be pretty hit and miss regarding fit and sink marks. I was lucky with mine!!
