If you interest in technical and engineering iit is a best option If you interest in research and basic science iisc is a best option👍

And for your information about age of mtech in IISc, this year we celebrated golden jublee of computer science department, which is comparatively a newer department in the campus compared to many others! This video is completely misleading!

You mentioned that in IITs PG students don't get due attention. Is it true in all IITs and for all courses or happening only at few IITs? You also mentioned that IITs have better placements, are placements in IISC that poor, which made you jump to this conclusion?

It happens in all IIT and NIT. Many M.Tech students join simply to study for re attempt of GATE, because they want PSU. If someone gets IISc, there is high chance that IISc was his first preference so they will be more sincere.

You can become professor at NIT and IIT with PHD from iisc but I have never seen a professor who has done direct phd without M.Tech

Men who has taken direct phd giving reviews of mtech so doesn't make sense to take him seriously

I don't know if this answer will be still relevant to you. If you are planning for a mtech programme in iits for civil branch, Ig IIT B,M and K,KGP to an extent. But try getting very good ranks and attend all the psu interview and get selected. That is the one very realistic way of working in your domain(Civil), becoz from what I know core placements in Civil is less and PSU's are what people generally go for if you are a CIvil/Mech student. Attend ISRO and BARC , you won't regret your decision joining in there

as was mentioned in the video IITs are industry oriented and you can get into IITs and produce good papers there to get into the field of data science. though do remember that the first preference in IITs are obviously the UG students it will be really difficult competing with them. if you don't want that hassle and if your rank allows for it. go for IISc.

Firstly age is just a number, you can do anything you want at any point of your life, ye age wala system India me bahot kharaab hai..... You should go fir it.... And there are people whose age is 34 35 36 who go for mtech.... So i think you should also go for it

Fabs do come and recruit nanoscience folks..tsmc okke..though the placement scene is not fully streamlined for cense. Dese electrical communication csa etc have streamlined processes. There is no worry about placements as such, just that you will have to put a bit of extra effort and seek out yourself instead of depending purely on the placement from iisc. This was my main point. That is mainly due to a lack of a strong and infuential undergraduate programme who put the pressure on administration for streamlined placements. Another person made a comment here without understanding this aspect. You are not going to end up without a good placement or anything but the process will be different and might require extra effort from your end.
