I love this video. Divine music and voices. The actors have real chemistry. They are cute too. I’m a 72 yo female and I love this so much
I could listen to it and watch it over and over again... There is so much going on between them, there is so much gentle affection and ardent longing, such a strong mutual understanding that guides even their smallest actions. Mathias Vidal is such a wonderful actor and singer, and his voice blends perfectly with Philippe Jaroussky's in this duet about love that is a love duet too. One can only hope for further collaborations of Vidal & Jaroussky.

Powerful! rather selective interpretation of the lyrics.... but then, this Nerone is a bit creepy and distant when he is with Poppea... maybe this interpretation suits the historic Nero better, his real disposition... that perhaps he didn't fit the social construct of the masculine emperor

And this has the sweetest, cutest, prettiest, loveliest and sexiest Poppea in the history of opera! (Lest we forget)
Al minuto 5.42, un piccolo incidente, Vidal si è impigliato nel colletto di Jaroussky, si sente anche lo strappo. Il bello della diretta.

Many productions of Poppea struggle with the credibility of their staging, but this one found just the right balance. Voices fantastic, acting good, staging weird but in a nice way, great orchestra under a superb conductor, and gorgeous lead singer, even in this hideous attire.:)
