Two Polish women actually met on the court. Kleber represents Germany, but he has Polish family and his academy in the city of Poznań. This is similar to Wozniaki(Woźniacka). The girls talked to each other in Polish. Wozniaki and Kleber are Radwańska's friends. Brawo Iga.

I wish we could have seen a Radwanska-Swiatek match, might have been an interesting match up. Swiatek clearly has way more power (on her serve and groundstrokes) and incredible spin, Radwanska had way more variety and better net game, and prime Aga would probably have been on par with Iga in terms of speed and court coverage.

Kerber really wanted it... you can tell by her passion... I guess she would have won against any other player besides Iga today.. great match!

At 1-1 in the 1st set... I was thinking, if Kerber doesn't place shots and move better than this.... she is going down in straight sets. The new gen is too young and too fast to move like that... It may be time for Kerber to retire...

@@dinerics You are bad informed. She was born as daughter of polish couple which immigrated to Bremen two months before her birth.. She has dual citizenship, starts for Germany but lives permanently in Poland. Asked if she is German or Polish she answers she is both. And indeed Germans consider her to be German and for Poles she is Polish.

This looked like classic Kerber. She's clearly back in great physical condition for playing since the long maternity layoff. Low # of UEs, going for winners when available, and stayed composed. Made for a helluva 2-set match. Congrats Swiatek.

Ledwo to wygrała...z mamuśką pod 40...ale histeria trwa...trafiła w dziure w damskim tenisie . W kraju ślepców jednooki jest Królem. 20 lat temu nie załapała by się do pierwszej 10 tki.

I agree with dropshots especially that in the past as a teen she made them often with the great result! That would help to change the rhytm of play needed with players like Ostaoenko, Rybakina, Sabalenka. Slices she already implemented to her game and she is gettin better and better with them I think.

Inflation in Europe is bad; many fe-male players are playing for a living.

Is Iga into men or women?

Iga is the best- but a mediocre unkept roster of nobody’s . Terrible mediocre players 100 combined unforced errors per game? 60 combined unforced errors in a final. ? Iga is at 75 % at her best. Never a super star
