Putintseva was hitting shorter balls in the first set. Added depth made the difference, IMO.

I said before ..Putintseva has the craftiness, shot versatility and her drop shots are very well disguised. She has improved on her fitness and control of her anger/ emotional. Believing in herself and the mental, peace of mind to execute the right shot at the right time. Unless you have very powerful A game like Elena Rybakina ( I doubt she ever use her B game plan) then it's good to have the versatility to execute plan B. A wonder if Pro coaches do that to their players. It works well with ladies bec. a smart switch in game plan can just finished the game in 3 sets not givng opponent time to adjust.

The courts of Wimbledon are very different to the clay courts of Roland Garros. Iga was never a threat on grass. Iga is just not as consistent in playing on grass. Iga, definitely not #1 at Wimbledon.

Iga was not her usual calm self, she was too rushed, I could see that already in the first set. Was too eager to close the second set in the same manner and got punished

Putintseva played like Barty unpredictable, fearless and committed and left Iga in dazed not knowing what to do when the opponent played unpredictable type of tennis and never adjusted. This is why she never can predict Ashley style of game and never won against her. Congrats Yulia!!!!
Swiatek habitually allowed the opponent to first shake hands with the umpire, to only realize that this time she should be the first. The moment of hesitation in the blink of an eye says it all.

Iga is already a great. Her spin game doesn’t translate to grass but she is a great player and already historic. If she retired tomorrow, she would have 6 slams won in her short career. Even Serena would be impressed by that accomplishment.

Iga had been using a lot of energy on her previous matches. You might guess how hard she swing the racket. She just need to play relax on grass or she will have the same fate like monica seles.no wimbledon. unlike european, african american like serena tend to have extra energy to compete in multiple matches. Play smart is the best choice, just stay calm like rybakina.

Yulia made Iga bend and messed up her timing. Iga needs slower surfaces because all she does is wait and slap. Yulia exposed Iga's lack of variety and inability to adjust.

Most likely you dont play tennis yourself, Unforced errors in small amount are exacltly unforced errors, in a big amount it calls overplayed with no idea how to rise up your game and match up the opponent. Yulia did not get the win for free.
