She wants this pretty bad. She is the real #1 all year. Screamalenka just got it by points difference but lag behind real record and performance! Haters of 1GA are delusional to her true character. She is a good person and athlete representing the WTA organization well. Her service games improvement is very noticeable becoming stronger and precise avoiding double faults. She knew which ones to improve in her game and could hardly wait for her to take another GS trophy at AO next January!

Iga is doing great for herself. 4 Slam titles and one 1 WTA Finals title and she's still only 22 yrs old. By age 22, Serena had won Slam titles on all surfaces - 6 Slams and 1 WTA Finals title. This means that Iga is not far behind and will likely do greater things should she maintain consistency.

Iga is an excellent player, but I think her "fans" truly let her down. They're so desperate for her to be named as one of the all-time greats (might happen one day!) that they put stupid expectations on her. Too much pressure... clearly showing they care more about her winning than they seem to care about her. And she seems like a sweetheart. Let her win AND support her when she doesn't win... which should be easy because she seldom loses.

@@notis6107 To be fair, it's going to take a lot more majors than that. In the top 10 WTA grand slam winners, two players are tied for last place, and they have 8 titles each! Leading the top 10 is Court with 24, Williams with 23 and Graf with 22 titles.

If she continues the way she's going, no doubt she will be, but she's a leading player in this season, that's it and that's enough. Her fans should celebrate that. Also, I was responding to the person that used her 4 GS titles as justification for Iga being in the all-times greats' status. You're right that others aren't on that top 10 list, and they were extraordinary players.

Iga is my favorite current WTA player. But everyone seems to forget that by age 20 Steffi Graf had the ONLY Grand Slam in the last 53 years. She also had 8 Majors titles, 2 Tour Finals and an Olympic Gold Medal, and had just finished a streak of playing in 13 Major Finals in a row.

@@rangerlongshot Graf was indeed on a hot pace playing a lot of tennis and winning a lot by the time she was 20. But she fizzled out just as fast by the time she reached 30. When an athlete push a body so fast, not having longevity becomes a foregone conclusion.

Well, I doubt that Igar Swiatek will win more than 23 GS titles, more than 4 Olympic gold medals (1 in single and 3 in double competition) like Sererna did.Furthermore there's the legendary Steffi Graf, who won 22 GS titles including the 'golden slam' before she became 29. ... Come on, keep the ball flat, Swiatek is a great player, but she'll definitely never reach Serena's or Steffi's level.
