This episode is a perfect example of why I'm a huge fan of this podcast. It started with an important discussion on electronics as a parent (I'm a father of 3 ranging from toddler to teen). Then as a Muslim heading into Ramadan it answered a burning question I had. And everything else in between. Keep up the good work guys

What I always dislike when you guys talk about religion along the lines of "if they don't get into religion, they'll worship something else" is the implication that people that are religious don't also get into money worship, bad ideologies and habits. While as an agnostic I can see the value of it as a tool, I wish you'd be clearer about this. That being said, I really do agree with the idea that if you won't take your kids to church, find a different way to do something of value for at least that hour a week. And I also can't deny that there was value to my time I spent at church since before I can remember to about age 14.

The actual reason for the batteries continuously burning is bc they are insulted and it’s hard to penetrate the capsules to get to the batteries. It’s a topic in the fire service often discussed over the past handful of years. We are always doing trainings on them further educating ourselves on ways to control and hopefully stop the Ecar fire

I agree with Jordan Peterson. However, I did take all 4 of my kids to mass every week and they went to Sunday school and had all their sacraments. They are currently 17-23 years old. None of them attend church. And one child doesn’t believe in anything. So there’s more to it. Social media is so powerful! It’s very difficult for parents in these days.

Mustard and hot sauces, along with salting foods was a huge turn around point when I did keto. Eat very clean with whole foods but those made life and workouts so much easier.

As a Muslim who's doing Anabolic and going into Ramadan, I can definitely relate. My approach is to just get the sessions in but focus more on the religious and spiritual side of things. Intensity will definitely be dropped. Nutrition wise, I will only track protein and make sure I get enough. Everything else, I wouldn't be too crazy about it.

36 yr old law enforcement listener here. I am currently detailed out to the academy instructor and decided to make the best of it and start loosing weight. I’ve lost 20lbs in 5 months. Lifting, eating (Bariatric patient) and walking. You guys give out some of the most complete content in the space right now. Right now I’m 168-174 lbs maybe 15%-20% bf and trying to get to 160lbs 10-15% bf and 100% I can do this slowly and controlled. I’m NOT a huge eater since I can’t be but I’m eating around 1600 calories hitting about 120-160 grams of protein. Experimenting with macro ratios and seeing what makes me feel best. Thanks to you guys I finally understand this isn’t a race but a marathon ! Long term goals ! Thank you guys !

Low carb for me is under 250 grams in a day 😂. Love the content and how in one episode Adam or Sal had mentioned how the sodium in one fast food meal would surpass salting food for a week….I put lots of salt and seasonings on my food (and barely ever eat out)…and it’s been great! ❤

It's not that we don't hear stories that teach morals anywhere other than religion. You really just have to be mindful of the content kids consume indiscriminately matter where it comes from. Some stories told in different religions are just as messed up as stories they'd hear other places. There are definitely stories in the bible I wouldn't want children hearing either at all or without an adult to frame them in a different way. True some evil ideologies ban religion to keep people from believing in other things but at the same time religion is sometimes used to justify and implement evil ideologies like slavery, etc not to mention the amount of wars that have been waged in the name of god (when that was really just the justification for wanting to conquer/colonize anyway).

44:11 Pfft, I'm with Justin on this. You can't judge someone's intelligence based on degrees. It says a lot of good things about a person (like dedication, sacrifice (maybe) and the intelligence to get the degree in the first place) but it would be a piss poor measuring stick for intelligence on its own. Expertise in different fields was brought up, and I think that would be a cool way to measure intelligence; by comparing the knowledge and practical use of it among people in the same field.

I didn't have a smart phone until I was basically graduated from high school, I can easily see where it is harder now because of the easier access to it than ever. I did watch TV growing up, but didn't get social media until far later. As far as smart phones I think they shouldn't be given to small kids at all. Ipads at least to my knowledge require a good internet connection to use, so I don't imagine they are as bad. Side note some (old school (especially Japanese animes particularly shounens are often filled with good morals and narratives, are they as good as church? No, but believe it or not they often have a pretty strong emphasis on doing good / the right thing.

I raised my children and the 90s and early 2000s. There was a limit of one hour of TV each day. I realized the value of positive influences on my kids so they were required to be in a sport, a club, and a faith-based group. This gave them outside role models and a group of positive/motivated friends at a time when they were gaining independence. .

Me and my wife really limit how much time our daughter has on her tablet. We noticed a while back that if she was constantly on it her attitude was just terrible. She wouldn't do her chores, she wouldn't eat dinner, she stopped reading books, ect. Now she has to earn time instead of just having time allotted everyday. Hell I will give her time if she works out with me. But I think y'all hit the nail on the head about parents having to set the example. If I'm scrolling through KZread shorts after I just told my kid she doesn't need her tablet she's going to notice that. I have caught myself a few times where I had to put my phone in a different room and just get on the floor and wrestle with my kids.

Beyond Meat is tanking, but not the plant-based alternative food market, which is thriving. Free market, guys. There are just many more (and less expensive) alternatives out there. By the way, Dr. Christopher Gardner from Stanford actually did a crossover study on Beyond Meat vs red meat and people had better health outcomes on Beyond Meat. They lowered their LDL and TMAO levels and they lost more weight despite eating the ‘ultra-processed food’. That said, it’s still high in saturated fat (but certainly less than red meat) and sodium, so chose whole-food plants whenever possible.
