    Remind me when I retire to go to every salvage yard and get every one of those modules to sell on eBay. I believe the Carwizrd mentioned that problem in one of his video's on the XLR. I think it was on his XLR.

    Same problem on my Mercedes! I did the same as you with drilling the holes to let water escape, BUT I ALSO put my module in the a plastic bag sealing the top of the bag with silicone to make absolutely sure the water will never get to the module again!!!

    Bob you can also use Zymol seal conditioner I believe it is called... works really good, been using it for years! Also the exposed seals use that 303 UV protectant dressing... especially in Vegas sun & heat!

    It's a "tool watch". A stainless steel watch with a sapphire crystal is much more durable than an Apple watch or a plastic Casio. Been wearing a Rolex Submariner at work since 2004.

    If I ever should happen to purchase one down the road, this is a great tip! If you like convertible hardtops, you should get a Chevy SSR. It's fun watching it transform from a pickup to a truck convertible. Like something straight out of a Transformers movie. I only wish that my Prowler would do that as well. I have a rare Mastercraft hardtop on my Mulholland Edition Prowler. In order for me to take the fiberglass hardtop off, I need about 2-3 people to help take it off to ride with the top off, so I just leave it on. I would love to get my hands on a wrecked XLR. I see the protentional in modifying one of these. What I would do is turn it into a 30's roadster. If you look at the side distance of car of front wheel to the steering wheel or where the driver sits at, it's about the same distance in relation to the Prowler distance. So I would section and narrow the hood width section and take passenger and drivers side fenders and recess them in as well to to match the tapered narrow width of hood, grill and front bumper. Put front fenders on like a Prowler or put 39 Ford fenders for the front. Turn it into an old time classic.

    My 04 has a hole in it from the factory but they put a thin rubber hose to extend it down. The end of it would and did pinch together. I cut the end of it off so it is just open all the time and no way of pinching again.

    Gotta Love That Good Old GM Design Engineering! 👍Good advice.... Well, if I ever get one, 🤔 I don't even think I know anyone with one, well besides you, Bob. I'm not sure if I've ever even seen one on the road before. I mean, what there is only was like what 15,000 built, I mean, that's half as many Vipers that are on the road, and I've only seen a couple of those. The repair bills are always stupid for a "Luxury Corvette", and with they're overpriced for rarity. 🤔 I better go start looking for tomorrow... lol 😜 Just giving a shit... 👍 Nice car and good advice! Just looked back on that Blue's Brother Car, link I sent you... Sold... Did you buy it???

    Hey man I got a question I haven’t found a video of , my trunk has to be opened from the key hole but once I do that I can tell the motor is still working because I’ll lift automatically but I can’t put the top down from its button until I manually open the trunk.. I did get into an accident with minor damage on the driver side right where the mechanics reservoir is and I’m assuming something got knocked lose but can’t quite pin point it, you got any suggestions?

    You 110% come off as a XLR owner 😂 My boss had a SL55 AMG and now I’m saving for an E55 AMG (I use to be a huge anti-sedan guy) Now it just boggles my mind why anyone would want a 2 seater 🥴 Why not just get a fast sedan and have the best of both worlds? It’s nice to have the space when needed and not have to switch cars. I fell in LOVE with AMGs over the years and if you know what you’re doing/looking for it’s not so intimidating and they’re actually SUPER reliable! Would love to see you do a review and see what you think!

    My good friend had a 2006 CLS 55 AMG...let me tell you about reliable..at bearly 6 years old and 80k kms (or about 50k miles) the AIRMATIC suspension failed spectaculalry, onto a flat bed it went and AUD 10,000 or about $7,000 USD to repair (was out of warranty of course), then shortly after the Supercharger bearing failed, this was at 82k kms or about 51k miles..that was a $5,000 AUD or about $3,000 USD to repair, this didn't take into account the smaller stuff like power window regulators and suspension busgings and brakes which all cost a small fortune to replace. about 3 years after his first suspension failure he copped another, but this time two units failed and was 'only' up for AUD $5,000. Maybe you can do a lot of maintanance yourself (my mate couldn't) but super reliable is definately NOT what I'd describe an E55 or CLS 55 to be. Put that money towards a Lexus GS F!

    @@KnightIndustries572 Preventative maintenance definitely helps lol. A lot of people swap out the air suspension for regular shocks & I’d totally pick up a GSF if they didn’t cost more than they did brand new 🥲 They’re basically collector items now

  • @guessagain9885
    @guessagain98853 ай бұрын

    Crazy bad idea if you ask me. You found the root cause of your problem but chose to drill holes in your car instead of fixing the cause of the problem. I call that crazy stupid. Just fix the seal and you won't have water making it's way into your car. If your window starts leaking, are you going to drill holes in your floor boards instead of fixing the seal around the window?
