Depends on your honor level. If you already have low honor he stabs him, if it's high it plays the same scene as when you spare him.

I thought so too. made me think of(Spoiler warning, even if it GTA5) when Micheal shoots Trevor if you hesitate as Franklin. (that was my first ending because I thought Frank will die in choice C, Then I got kinda got sad and played the game again, when I found out Frank no Die.)

You can also collect as much money as possible as Arthur and before things get crazy and the main story comes to an end, you can go to the Abernathy House to get robbed. If you never went there and then you go and let them rob you, the money will be in that hidden spot the entire time. After that, just keep playing the last missions to finish the story. When you play as John, you can then return at any time to that house and you'll find it mostly empty with the weird siblings gone. All you gotta do then is to just walk up to that picture where the money is hidden and open it up and get to recollect all your money that you had as Arthur.

Fun fact : I tried on my second playthrough to stab Anthony Foreman ,and surprise, while playing as John I still found him as a bounty , so I guess the canon choice is to spare him

I played Red Dead Online first when I heard it was taking place in the year 1898(I'm obsessed with doing things in chronological order) and when I met Foreman for missions he seemed like a very peaceful and friendly person. Didnt expect him to become something like this in just one year

Wild take but this game really can tell you a lot about a person based on the choices they make on the first play through. I played this story a total of 4 times and every time I found I couldn’t get Arthur’s honor low not because of lack of trying, but because I genuinely understood that based on how the plot for him as a character ran its course it was clear that he sought redemption and in a religious sense absolution as he could no longer live in a life of sin and misery. To see the effects of him realizing the consequences even the benefit of some of the negative choices made in years spoken about prior to the time we as the player experience Arthur Morgan was always meant to be an honorable man. However fate had it that before he found that honor he was meant to be brought down the dark and narrow road that many of us pray we never find ourselves upon.

This happens if you have low honor. In every sequence where you are faced with two choices, if you stall, your Honor practically does the choosing for you. For example, in Mary’s first mission, if your Honor is low, she will storm off with the thought that you would not help her. But if your Honor is high, she will believe that your silence is approval and you will do the mission.

I let him live then had to take him to jail as john

It’s awesome how rockstar games works i remember L.a. noire had this similar approach on making a decision idc what anyone says they are the best at what they do

The player had high honor prior, that’s why Arthur automatically spared him.

It's actually better to keep him alive because when you go to saint Denis as John you'll find a bounty poster for him as 80$

Just go to Saint Denis and greet every single person you walk past. The good boy points just keep rolling in.

Oh snap never knew that. I always play good storyline games multiple times and play different and make different choices but RDR2 has so much detail that even if you 100% the game you can still see new and different stuff just by making different choices and the way you play

If you spare him he becomes a short bounty mission later on when you see his wanted poster.

I always killed him, sparring other victims & also sparring John from having to kill an extra man; If you ask me, that’s exactly what Arthur would do too

This is based on your honor and can happen during several situations that require a player decision.

I had the high honor cutscene where you let him go. Turns out you can turn him in with a bounty when you play as john if you let him go as arthur. He even asks if you, john, was associated with arthur and that he kept his promise with not messing with Tilly and the rest of the Van Der Linde gang after you spared him as Arthur.

The games really wanted you to kill him so badly lol

It’d be low honor to spare him in my opinion. I chose to to end him and for the exact same reason that arthur said: “can’t have this bullshit around us.” It’s like fucking with a gang and then just leaving them around for them to eventually hit you again

I can’t remember but in the mission where you kill Micah you try to get info out of cleet (I think) and you take him up to the gallows and it gives you the option to hang him or spare him and if you take to long saddie shoots him in the head

I never liked miss grimshaw and always antagonized her at camp until this mission. Just the agression and zeal she had going to save tilly. I was like "okay den miss grimshaw" now im nice to her.

If I had a choice I would have left Tilly alone with Anthony Foreman

Spare him he has a special horse that you can only get if you spare him he will ride off giving you the opportunity to hog tie and take his ride
