IF YOU COLLECT PLANTS STOP AND WATCH THIS: GARDEN GNOME GREENHOUSE TOUR W/ @CHARLIESUCCS
Twas the day after Christmas and I was out questing, exhausted from almost two days of resting. Out in Corona a man with a mullet just built a new greenhouse that went over budget, a tour? you'll love it! It's long over due. Its morning in winter I had to come thru. Cactus and caudex plants are abound, and even some raised beds, rooted in ground. A garden gnome in his greenhouse a sight that's profound. Pottery and plants arranged on nice benches, incenses scented the absence of stenches.a Relentless collection all staged to perfection. The best of the best in the west I suggest.
hahah. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and happy new year to you all!
In todays video we do a tour of @Charliesuccs (on instagram) new beautifully engineered wooden where he keeps a collection of interesting and rare plants ranging from Pelargonium and Welwitchia to Ariocarpus, Copiapoa and even shares some of his care tips for his Dioscorea as well.
I hope you enjoy! THE QUEST CONTINUES!!!!!

I have something similar i reacued it from my local hardwear store. mine stands about 3 inches has narrower trunck and leaves than then yours I have only had it a year and its now growing 3 pup on top.
This is what my dreams are made of . I dont think i have or can find one 😮🙈😂

Awesome vid! Where do you buy your unigrow in SoCal?
So happy to hear people calling Pelargonium by their actual name :>
I did a experiment using San Pedro cactus using 4 cactus the exact same size in 3 of the pots I used the best cactus soil formulation and the other 3 i used regular back yard clay based soil straight out of the ground all 4 plants had the exact same light and rain no fertilizers at the end of the experiment which lasted a total of 365 days The plants that were in the regular back yard dirt were larger healthier (coloration ) over all better then the 2 that were grown in expensive cactus formulated soil medium .My personal conclusion is when it comes to plants there is a lot of misleading hype designed with one purpose and thats to rip off the consumer

You’re right about the disadvantages of commercial potting soils. For several years now many/most of them are made using wood chips, and cause serious problems. San Pedro cactus are adapted to areas with good rainfall, so will put up with garden soil in a pot. The majority of xerophytic plants would require taller pots and careful watering in order to survive that.
Very cool guys👍

I have one of the other automata spray paint design pots cool to see one of its cousins randomly
Picked up a couple of old copiapoas at an auction this year - a haseltoniana and a 20-headed coquimbana. Managed to get then for reasonable prices but they are definitely overpriced here in the UK too.

Very nice! Why keeping small windows always open? I mean even when it is cold and heating system is running?
man this gets me geeked! i have to upload a video of my basement room. i have two pots of the aloinopsis that i started from seed last winter. i got flowers on them last spring and a few buds right now. have a table full of seeds i started this past fall. mostly from mesa and a girl in the ukraine - vincactus. a hobby that i got carried away with that i don't really have anyone around me to talk about it with or share. i love the greenhouse tours. i'm going to be building something similar to this before summer. the past couple years i've been putting everything on a table and underneath the table under an 8ft umbrella and i am terrified every time we get a thunder storm with wind. i'm in PA 6a, so half the year i run the operation in the basement under LED lights. those elephantipes look crazy! i have 5 of those from seed. i actually put those under lights and been watering them somewhat regularly because they're still growing. i notice up here in the winter, the air is so dry, that i have to water some things more than i would in the humid summer months. it's crazy dry right now. the dormant stuff, i water a little bit once every few weeks.

Are you using twin wall on all walls and roof? If yes, does enough sunlight pass through?
Gorgeous collection, I would like to purchase such plants if you sell, if not. Tell me where you can buy such Copiapoa.
👍
You gotta come to Chico CA and check out geffrays garden he has some stunning specimens
Os vasos combinam muito com os cactos
Hunter, I love you man but, I gotta tell you, if I ever see another Copiapoa or an Aireocarpus again, it will be too soon. Sorry, just really tired of them, everyone is on the Copi/Aireo kick these days. I love the native Arizona species, Echinocereus Rigidissimus Rubiuspinis, Saguaro, Opuntia Chya teddy bear cactus and so on. Again, Love ya man, You're one of my favorite KZreadrs!!!

Well I try to cover a bit of everything - last video was pure Astrophytum. I hear you tho the hype is a bit excessive and the costs going up and up and up are prohibitive for me to be able to buy mature flowering plants. It’s a bummer I feel you.

people have been into ariocarpus for a long time. decades. its not going away either. the plants hold that much appeal. and they're not the easiest to grow from seed. I lost every single one of mine from rust fungus. I got so frustrated I've since hesitated to try again. that was over 15 years ago.

Loved the video. I have a caudex plant that I just bought called oxalis megalorthiza and can't seem to wake it up. I bought it dormant. It woke up briefly sprouted 3 leaves and 2 blooms then died down again. Do you have any suggestions I could try?
@CactusQuest

I would do some online research on its natural growth cycle to better understand how it goes in and out of dormancy - im not personally too familiar with that species so you'd be best to consult the online forums
where can i buy those dessert plants? im a new collecter
Maybe some day you should contact a company that makes soil mix and rebrand it with your channel name. I bet people would be interested in buying and using it.
awesome greenhouse!!! funny u skipped over The Godfather of all succulents.......
I would be crushed to let the copiapoa go.
Looooovvveeee! It's so good to see Charlie's plants! One question: where are the Pokemon? 😁
Wow, I can't believe you were touching the leaves of the tylecodon wallichii. Nasty plant, with deadly sap.
Why do you keep cacti in agree house?
I saw some of your plant over 100 years old, own those plant ,is that illegal?
