I've lived here for over 20 years. I lived in the townhouse The Knolls by the Costco 20109. I lived in City of Manassas before that and now I'm back in City of Manassas 20110. I work in Manassas Park 20111. These areas are good and overall crime is low. Lots of shops, restaurants and entertainment all over and especially in Old Town Manassas. Thete are some sketchy areas like Georgetown South abd a few others but that like any of other City anywhere. Realistically I people don't typically bother you here. We have a decent police presence in our communities which has helped to keep crime low. And I'm going to be completely transparent here. We are a pro gun state with open and conceal carry with most conceal carry. We take our personal protection serious but this isn't the Wild West. We're really quiet about all of that. Overall this is a great place to live and raise a family. We're 30 minutes to an hour from DC and Maryland respectively and that opens the door for additional things to do and places to go with friends and family... Don't get put off by videos about Manassas. Come visit and make up your own mind.

Any good place for a house on a decent amount of land, away from the city, within like an hour drive from the air port? I'm thinking of apply for work as an aircraft mechanic at the flight school up there.

Thats pretty cool about your grandfather, I'm moving from Illinois and looking for a place to live and rent for right now. wondering if you work in that realm? Thank you! I'm trying to be between Leesburg VA & Fort Belvoir (Reason I say between there is because I have some family/friends there in Leesburg and I want to be somewhat close to go to their church on Sundays and visit. I was narrowing down to Centreville and wondered your opinion or do you suggest any other place in between. I also like the way you break things down and with the map and major roads, much appreciated .

They didn’t let me die, but my grandfather wasn’t being fed (he needed to be spoon fed) and he died after 2 weeks in their care because they weren’t feeding him. They just let him starve. Being on Hospice or not, someone should’ve been feeding him. He’d eat when my stepfather fed him, but they never TRIED to feed him. I don’t think he starved to death (he had dementia) but they SHOULD have at least TRIED to get him to eat.

Is the NOVA area diverse for black families? I’m looking for diversity and safe area to raise my family. Job relocation is in the Manassas area. Any tips or advice would really help.

It’s SO diverse here and in Fairfax. The schools low key suck (DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO PARKSIDE FOR ANY REASON. There was a knife fight my 8th grade year, a kid (I was friends with him) got arrested for trying to kill another kid (I actually know why. This one kid, we’ll call him D, made fun of my friend Matt jokingly, and our mutual friend Devin, took it upon himself to “defend” Matt, who did not need to be defended from D. Matt was 2 years older than D and knew he was kidding. Devin tried to stab D, got arrested and expelled, came back the next year (spent 4 months in Juvie) and D was pulled from school and sent to a different one (Devin should’ve never been allowed back into school. He had proved himself to be a danger to others, and D had PTSD from almost being murdered by this kid. I was actually the one who told the teachers because, even if I wasn’t friends with D, he didn’t do anything wrong and didn’t deserve to almost be murdered) anyway, PARKSIDE is worse than schools in Detroit (and I’d know, I went to school in Detroit when I was 4-9 years old) The knife fight was actually separate from the murder attempt. The murder attempt happened when I was in 7th grade. My parents STILL didn’t pull me from that school. I would’ve pulled my kids from that school automatically had I heard that.

Yeah so diverse that they gentrified the hell out of former black neighborhoods now that sits under 25% and now some of them are populated by Hispanics but they’re being gentrified as well

It’s not that bad. I’ve lived here for ten years. It’s not any worse than anywhere else in Virginia; let’s be real here. In fact, I’d say Annandale was worse, crime wise, as a lot of crime wasn’t reported in the neighborhood I lived in. Then again, I grew up in Detroit, so maybe I have a different view on crime. I think the fact we only have murder on the news every 6 to 8 months really screams about how safe Manassas is. Detroit, when I was a kid, had a new murder or two on the news EVERY morning. Also, we’ve never been robbed in Manassas, but we DID have our tires stolen in Detroit (woke up to our car on cinderblocks in 2006, back when the chop shops were just stealing whatever they could off of cars. It’s not as bad now, but almost every car in the parking lot didn’t have tires (apartments are also sketchy. I had three neighbors who were addicts, and four that dealt drugs out of their apartments, one of which was directly across the hall from us. They used to trade food with us, though, and were actually really nice! They also let me walk their chihuahua, which is nice because I really wanted a dog when I was a kid and we couldn’t afford it.

Nobody heard about Annandale until now 😂😂😂😂 its not worse than Manassas at all its not worse than Woodbridge and Dumfries and than you said any other parts of Virginia yeah you’re definitely a transplant because Annandale ain’t even worse than places like Petersburg, Richmond and Norfolk swyd

Yeah, you definitely don't want to move here. 80% of the traffic around here are legals without licenses or insurance. So if your a non fault accident, you're screwed the police do nothing Since they stop working with ice.

Avoid the area? You talk about crime buddy. The cost and demand for housing in this county is through the roof! You must relocate 3 hours away from DC center to find a new SF home!
