@@davidz2562 I think the point is Mark never even loved her lol he was just lonely and became infatuated with her, he barely knew anything about her at the start of the show, they just occasionly have a bit of friendly small talk. The moment I think he loses some infatuation for her, not love, is when he shamefully buys condoms for her and Jeff. We all have that moment when we realise were not attracted to someone as much as we thought we were. In that episode he definitely goes off of her a bit, he starts to realise she's a bit of an asshole, he's only given a chance with her when someone else isn't pampering her, she's about to sleep with another bloke and that bloke is a complete twat but it still takes more for Mark to realise he doesn't want her that much anyway because he was deluded, he's just desperate for intimacy and because she talks to him a bit he becomes obsessed with her and believes she's the person he's meant to be with. No one can actually love someone until they've been in a happy relationship with them for a while imo, Mark thinks he is in love with her just by speaking to her from time to time. That's what the scene on the Moors in Quantocking was meant to show.
