For the price, the Hex does appear to have good overall specs. But so does Harley Benton, and they have a lot more options, and will now ship directly to the US. I’m no HB fanboy, but I did try one of their Fusion series guitars, and I was quite impressed. The Hex doesn’t do much for me aesthetically, but it’s not hideous. The light weight will be great for a lot of people. What I dislike is the lack of an apparent serial number, not any indication of the actual factory in which the guitar is manufactured. Regarding the discrepancy in relative pickup output, I always advise to spend a decent amount of time adjusting pickup heights and pole pieces before swapping pickups. Often, a LOT can be accomplished with a simple screwdriver and a bit of patience.

Interesting guitar with good specs. Some design suggestions: The forearm carve should to be shifted forward by about 3 inches towards the waist, as in its current position and shape, the pointy end is likely to get in the way when the picking hand reaches over the fingerboard for techniques like tapping, etc. The headstock looks a bit blocky, but would look more elegant if the treble side was angled inward towards the high e-string tuner by about .5-1.0 inch.

strap placement button. the horn is a terrible place for the strapholder. it forces the fretboard to angle up at your face, decreasing the stretch of your hand and increasing carpal tunnel injuries. the best spot for the button is where the headstock meets the body. i do this to all my guitars. it makes the fingerboard stand perpendicular to the ground, which makes it easier to do wide stretches without injuring your wrist. allan holdsworth does this to all of his strat shaped guitars, look at any picture of him playing one...

That is a great looking cutaway but form should follow function, it may need to extend further around the body so you can pick halfway up the neck or near the bridge with free access. Although if that nice Mr Trogly said the bridge height adjust screws poked him, his wrist and arm may have floated well above the cutaway. Especially with the deep rear body cut, the arm cutaway might be for appearance only in practice. What about it Mr T did the arm cut bother you?

If you can't tell the difference between cheap pickups and premium pickups, then by all means buy the cheap ones. You'll be just as happy and you'll wind up with more money in your pocket. But there is a difference. Hint - it's not just about the sound, it's also about the feel and how much nuance you can command with your technique. More advanced players will favor the premium pups every time.
Excellent pickups. You get all the strat sounds and all the les paul sounds within a simple lay out. Impressive.
I am not a shredder by any means but I really liked this guitar. I wonder if this is what happened to Laguna. They moved to California and don't do electrics anymore I think. I had a Laguna, I forget the model, it was an HSH pickup arangement and their version of a Floyd Rose setup. I bought it when they first came around after a bit of research, and it was exactly like this guitar: very well made with thoughtful features for the price. It had the split switch for the pickups and that "Is this a Baritone?" Neck length, which I liked, cus I noodle around the 12th fret a lot. Of course, it got stolen. But they were originally an import-only Indonesian company making really good affordable guitars too.

For anyone wanting something with different aesthetics, this is cool. I have a Cort/Manson MB which is very similar to this.
That bridge p-up was made for distortion. That sounds fantastic distorted
The chamfered edge for the arm comfort cut reminds me of what Ben Crowe has done on multiple Crimson Custom guitars.
A neck shim should give enough wiggle room to adjust the saddles with good action and lowering the height of the saddle screws
strap placement button. the horn is a terrible place for the strapholder. it forces the fretboard to angle up at your face, decreasing the stretch of your hand and increasing carpal tunnel injuries. the best spot for the button is where the headstock meets the body. i do this to all my guitars. it makes the fingerboard stand perpendicular to the ground, which makes it easier to do wide stretches without injuring your wrist. allan holdsworth does this to all of his strat shaped guitars, look at any picture of him playing one...
Neck adjustment screws are an easy fix. The 8mm on my Ibanez were gouging into my palm, spent $3 and swapped them out for some 6mm.

That headstock ain’t that bad. I build guitars and designing headstock’s is by far the hardest bit. Bodies have to be a certain shape to fit with your body, to get good neck access etc but headstocks can be any shape as long as the tuners fit. Trouble is, if you stray too far from the norm, they just look wrong 🤷🏻♂️
I want one of those T style. Really like that shape. Btw, in the vid it definitely looks satin. Actyal flat would leave oil marks every time you handled it. (From a contractor that begs customers to never use flat paint.) The shielding paint was actually flat.
You should check out Sully Guitars out of Texas if you wanna see some unique twists on body shapes
385,000 Korean Won is $289.40 in USD.
Sounds better with a bit of gain. Would need to modify the headstock.
Stainless being a value added thing to me is so funny knowing that you can get like 3 guitars worth for $15 shipped. Yes there's labor, but still. Everything should be stainless.
For the price, this thing is nice. Looks great. I'll have to trust what you say regarding feel and sound. I wish they would have made every fret inlay marker a single hexagon instead of the traditional dot, then put the triple or something more exaggerated on the 12th.
Key question how much does it really cost he said IF YOU COULD GET IT FOR $400
I definitely like the neck I usually prefer maple caps. But the neck has a lot going for it .
The overall profile is Ernie Ball Silhouette. Lots of character & tone at that price point.
Hi Austin, I looked this guitar up on the web and it was like and they were cheaper than $400 but there's shipping and all. At that price I'm going to order one providing I can get one sent from Korea to the U.S.
I like the headstock.
THe T style hex guitars are really nice! ( after being worked on) My fave is the satin pastel purple one
sounds very Squier strat light ... probably a bit brighter
Was there any tuning stability issues? Not a fan of the head stock or bridge. However It’s cheap enough to do some mods and make it a metal machine. I'd put a Lace Alumitone Deathbucker in the bridge and a sustainer in the neck. Maybe one of those Hipshot baby grand bridges would look cool on this.
What I noticed was the neck is "flat sawn" number 2 Maple, (kind of soft) and that the frets aren't glued into place. I have no issue with the soft wood body for this price range, but the pickups sound pretty awful as well. Aren't there several cheap guitars here with SS frets, in this price range already? I see no feature that stands out, as something that I can't already buy, and $400. is a bit high for a cheap project instrument with no tremolo.
A page from fender on the headstock Graduating post tuners would be an advantage
I love the neck pickup on that.
Hello from France ! I have a request : will you make a review on the news Revstars ( Element and Standard ) ? Thanks for your job on YT !!
It looked as if the arm cutaway ended sharply right where your arm and wrist sit. Especially if you strap-hang it with the neck tilted up steeply. Although you were picking above the bridge pickup pretty exclusively in most of the footage.
Gibson should use those bridges cause that two-piece bridge on the left-hand of Guitar, which I have six of is hard to keep intoneded on the D string
It’s a great looking guitar. The sounds are more towards the hard rock/metal crowd but with the look i doubt you would find it in the hands of someone playing blues or jazz anyways, maybe pop music. It could benefit from having a Floyd rose term system but i think that would raise the price a bit and they’re trying to stay competitive. All in all a solid guitar for the price and with 24 frets (two octaves) as an owner of a Brian May red special, i cannot begin to tell you how much better those extra frets are.
What polish did you use Trogly? Looked great!
I wish you would address fret ends and fret levels similar to how Phillip McKnight. Everything else is very thorough!

Never Mind HEX Try a Fazley Guitar From The Bax Group I bought a Phynica Super Strat From Them For £140 in The UK. Locking Tuners, Roasted Canadian Maple Neck and Fingerboard.. No Fret Issues, Sure Its Has Ceramic Ick-ups but they sound great...and the finish and construction is awesome. Give One a Try..
