Demanding that teachers should have respect just because of how much they've worked for their position is entitled, especially considering how much of an impact that have on their students. Kindness != respect. You can still have an amicable relationship with a teacher without having respect for them. Its just simply treating it professionally, do work they've assigned, listen to them and do as they ask to a reasonable degree.
