I drive a school bus. 4 years ago I had a high school only route and there WAS a class that the girls had to take a computerized baby home for a weekend. It was programmed to act like a real baby. And at the end of the weekend, not one of my girls wanted a baby before they were 25....

So true. Yesterday my youngest was a baby and in 3 months she is having a baby of her own. I’m not sure if she would think this video is funny though, hmmm.

The baby finally quieting down and then the doorbell rings, the dogs bark, construction starts outside, ten phones ring simultaneously, somehow all the pans in the kitchen crash to the ground... 😂

I am super waiting for my son who ate all day and all night long to have a kid. My daughter paid me back for my crib escapes starting at 6 months by doing the same. We ended up co sleeping(FYI I know it isn’t the safest thing to do so we did our best to make it as safe as possible )because she was the eldest where I was the youngest and just crawled in bed with my toddler sister. We couldn’t afford our escape artist running around the house all night or sleeping with the dogs.

That's the sweetest thing ever apologizing for something he can't control 😅. They never did say let the baby cry it isn't gonna hurt them to let them cry every once in awhile.

Baby’s are great when you can hand them off to their parents and go home to a quiet night of sleeping. Until your oldest calls up in the middle of the night because the baby wont stop crying and shes sure somethings wrong and can you please come over to double check. Yea. It really never ends.

Quick tip: cook double or triple batches of meals. Freeze the extra in individual serving sizes. ....... Quick tip: have a cold and flu medical kit all ready to go. Have beds made up with mattress protector, sheet, mattress protector, sheet etc...that way, when the entire household is sick, all the kids end up in your bed and your half asleep...when vomit etc happens at 3am, just remove the top layer, scrap off the yuck, flush down toilet, put sheet in machine to soak and go back to bed without waking up ❤

So true. I can laugh about it now, but 23 years ago, it was no joke.

I loved the sketch, but one of the things we used to do was to ride her in the car. We later found that putting her in her infant seat on the dryer had the same effect. Thank you, clothes dryer.

Our first would get mad every time the car slowed down or stopped. But he loved having fabric close to his face (I guess he thought he was close to me that way?) and being face down. I seriously freaked out when he was maybe three weeks old and I found he'd rolled from back to front in the bassinet the first time. Even now almost 2 years old I often find him asleep face planted and rear straight up in the air!

lmao the second he put him down for a nap and cried each time he tried to leave, or the absolutely *haggard* look of the parents starting to yell and have a meltdown on the couch 😂😂😂

Kevin practically throwing the kid around and then being dizzy himself was hysterical!! These 2 are a pair!!

Hang in there, mama! My oldest (now 31 and the mother of 4) didn't sleep well either....until I fell asleep nursing her in our bed when she was 6 weeks old. She slept FIVE HOURS! I told my husband she wasn't going back in that cradle. 😂 All five of ours coslept so I could get some sleep too. 😉 Worked out very well.

I survived this with 2 of my 3 grown children. The fussiest clingiest one is the most independent one with 3 college degrees. So the Dr. SEARS book stating their little brains grow when night waking must have been valid. The books were a small comfort in those fussy times. Just know they are worth it and it doesn't last forever.

Babies have insticts that developed to keep them alive for tenthousand of years, that don't fit to current practises. First and foremost - never get left behind and eaten by predators! So babies want to be able to touch, hear, smell or see their parents at all times. They don't get, that the parents are just a room away and that they are safe. Being rocked is safe, because it means to be moved by an adult, when the tribe is moving. A bare crib is no good hiding spot from predators. A mother who is only half awake at nightly breastfeedings while sleeping next to the child is well rested the next morning, an adult having to get up at nights to go to their child will be tired as hell. So much stress can be avoided when parents know that and arrange their lives accordingly.

Y'all, I'm dead 😂😂😂 Whenever (yes, the southern "whenever") I start to miss my children being tiny, squishy little babies.... I'm gonna watch this and come to my senses. 😅

Hahah that was my case. My 2nd was an IUD baby when my oldest was 3 yo and she was colicky. It was fun. She is now 4 and my oldest 8 and I still love babies and toddlers the best somehow.

My lord, that's exactly like it is....I'm SO GLAD those days are behind me. The first baby is particularly difficult.

My first baby was a difficult baby who grew up to be a difficult adult. But I still love him with motherly love that cannot be explained. He rarely has anything to do with me and didn't speak to me for 7 yrs. But he was my first.

So true! Our newest little guy just turned 3 months and there is definitely a limit to what you can actually do with the baby in the carrier (I quickly learned that housework isn't much better that way). Best tip: if everyone is happy and healthy, it's ok to sit and rock your baby instead of sorting the laundry. "Babies don't keep."

My youngest are 15 year old twins now. I barely remember those days, just being tired all the time, and never ever eating warm food. I lived off dry cereal and peperoni.

The baby may have been fake, but that pooping noise sounded real to me. Lesson number 6, always bring a spare change of clothes in case of a blowout. You should probably bring one for the baby as well.

Very true. And the funny blowouts I've experienced was with my oldest boy. As a toddler, he would always have pee blowouts that would destroy the new to market Luvs diapers as they would always split and the little absorbant beads would go everywhere so we'd always know where he went in the house because of the trail! 😅

My oldest blew through an outfit, a spare outfit, a spare onesie, and we ended up carrying him out of church covered only by a blanket after only 45 minutes. I felt so bad for leaving church early. That was a hilarious day looking back. Our second had projectile poop, she could shoot poop (from her butt) 6ft across the room. She only ever had explosive poops till she was 9 months.

When my son's baby was just a few weeks old he told me he had a dream about me. When I asked what it was he said " I dreamed I was telling you how tired I am." LOL. I told him "Adulting is hard isn't it son"😂

As a post Partum nurse and mother of 3, I whole heartedly support this video…lol

My son is around 30 now he was a very well behaved child in fact his sitter and I used to joke whether he'd go thru his terrible 2s which he didn't. He went thru his terrible teens.

How about just not have sex at all unless you’re married and having children? Condoms and birth control is not 100% effective and has literally taught society to just have sex with way too many people without responsibility and love of a marriage partner or children. Also, I hate how much people complain about their children. Like, if you don’t like being a parent or babies and children, then why didn’t you give them up for adoption? I’m not saying ever even once do an abortion I’m saying adoption if you’re selfish and narcissistic.

my best tip for baby boys is when it's changing time and all is exposed to the world, approach with the replacement diaper in front of you like a shield until it is securely placed downward from the front first, then follow up with sliding the other half under him (basically the opposite of what you'd expect.) and just to be extra safe, make sure you're not talking to him at the time, so your mouth is closed on approach. because those boys have nice young prostates. yeah. best tip.

I just lost it when the doorbell rang and the dog barked - and yeah, enjoyed the rest of the ride down into reality. Priceless!

I really appreciate that they included the lie about distinguishing baby's cries. Their cries are only different when they're older, much older. Newborn cries are all the same generic wailing. Except for maybe when they're legit in pain.

@@laurao3274 I thought I must've been a bad mom when my first was a newborn and his cries all sounded the same to me! I just learned to keep an eye on other cues and go through a mental checklist, and by the time he was old enough to have different cries I was in a routine anyway and it didn't matter. Cries just mean "I need something." If baby smells funny or is trying to nurse on Dad it's pretty obvious what to do next. 😆

Ahh. Thanks for the flashbacks! I had triplets. 😂 One baby is super easy after that!

Haha, with some families it's the opposite 😂 The dad refuses to do much with the newborn for fear of breaking it, while the mother has to reassure him a mere touch won't break the baby 😅 (or that the head won't actually fall off if not properly supported...)

​@@AKHWJ3STI must've missed the disclaimer. I realized the baby must be a doll when I noticed that the straps of the baby carrier were loose enough for there to be space between them and her shoulders. And the fact that the "baby" did not once move.

That was precious!! So true and although it was done in jest, it was so truthful. The end was hilarious… I raised 3 and babysat a few grandkids. The stress, the exhaustion are so real. But I lived through it. Lol. Enjoy them when they’re babies!! At least you know what they’re up to.

Tip #6, and this really is the most important one: Sleep in shifts. If one of you goes to bed early while your partner stays up a bit late, then you switch off around 1-2am, then you can both get plenty of sleep even if the baby never sleeps for long. Interrupted sleep is way worse than the actual effort it takes to care for a newborn. Fix that, and the rest is pretty easy

Or just get a three-sided crib directly attached to your bed and learn to breatfeed while lying on the side. The sleep cycles will sync (no caffeine or alc) and you will only be half awake for feeds and sleep on immefiatly after and you will feel as if you had slept the whole night through.

That doesn't work so well when your husband works at night. I just used a bedside bassinet and learned to nurse in side-lying position. Makes life much more manageable, especially when you have other children that need you to be slightly less of a zombie during the day.

Them watching the baby monitor for every little movement is SO accurate!! Haha! Our baby turns 4 months soon. The spinning and agressive bouncing too... I have a carrier that has a head cover so I can eat without dropping food on baby. Really helps!!

The universe must of thought we were good at this as we unexpectedly had another 21 YEARS after the first!! The quiet peaceful sleep & freedom for 2 years was nice!😂

My youngest is 6. Ugh, this brought back so many awful memories. I miss a lot of her toddler years, but tiny babies really are the hardest. That and teenagers.

I am so lucky. All my babies were calm, easy. My second potty trained himself. It wasn't until they hit puberty that I was on the princioal's speed dial.

Best advise my mom ever gave me on raising our babies - they're gonna cry, sometimes you just have to let them cry. Make sure they're fed and changed and then put them down for a nap and just LET THEM CRY.

You shouldn’t be neglecting your babies. Your babies need you and if you never comfort them when they’re sleeping, then, they’re not going to trust you or have a good relationship with you.

@@HeatherAngus-vj2jq it is not neglect to let a baby cry occasionally. Stop the shaming. No one is saying never comfort them.

We have 9 kids. You're not wrong. 1) We used those baby wearing holders at first. The more kids, the more arms to hold them in. 2) Baby napped whenever he wanted. We never tried to make things quiet, dark or "perfect". They'll get used to sleeping during noise & light which meant that as they got older, they didn't require "perfect" conditions to sleep then either. 3) Outside can help tire him out, but that's more important as he gets older. 4) Yes, the cries are different, but it takes time to distinguish both for him & u. More often, we just went through the list & check everything in order until something worked. If he's pulling his knees up while crying, it's likely gas. 5) Co-sleeping is the next step passed baby wearing. Nurseries & cribs were ok when u are rich & hiring wet nurses. For us poor folks, wife got sleep, & baby got frequent nursings all night.

Yes the mom of 9 has the most practical advice. Baby wearing and co sleeping are the way to get rest and get things done.

Only got 2 but we did the baby wearing, they started out in their own room in their own crib although the youngest slept in a pack'n'play for nine months, they heard all the standard noise of daily life, heard all our music at normal volume, I can vacuum right next to their heads while they sleep, and we lived near an airbase, practically on the runway, so they also got very used to airplane noise and the apartment shaking like an earthquake hit every single time a plane took off or landed.

I have always needed perfect quiet condition for sleep as a 43yr old, ever since elementary, so i wonder what happened in my baby days lol.. my kids were the same though. Just fine for me, cuz i slept when they do

@@desosmom1 We had certain fantasies in our minds of both idealism & how things were "supposed to" happen w our kids & marriage. We had a 2nd bedroom so we fixed it up cute as a nursery w a rocking chair & a crib. That "dream" quickly turned into a nightmare. It looked good but didn't work. W baby #2, we didn't even try that original plan & stuck w what worked before and then learned that we needed to adapt as each child is different. All kids are easily disturbed by noise when they're first born. You have to TEACH them to tolerate noise. This is harder to do as new parents w 1 kid, but it's easier w 4+ kids where the house is almost always noisy. If they're tired, they lay down & sleep wherever they are. Our 5th would put himself to bed at night even before his bedtime, often without telling anyone.

This was perfect. Not every kid is this challenging but lucky me, my oldest was! Trial by fire. I think a lot of it was that she has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome that didn’t get diagnosed until she was like, 20 freaking years old. But for her first three months she was the world’s fussiest kid and we’re lucky she and our marriage survived. I had such an elaborate baby-soothing dance that around that time, when I was at a baby shower, I held someone’s baby for a few minutes and they asked me to tone it down or the kid would expect them to do it. I was a little embarrassed but a lot enraged, on the inside… you telling me your kid settles down WITHOUT this?!? We didn’t even have our own washer-dryer to set her carseat on. We went for a lot of drives… She’s worth it, by the way. She may never be healthy enough to move out, but she’s worth it.

Omgosh!! At tip #4 (cries) I could feel your growing stress and wasn't long before I realized I was BOUNCING MY PHONE to soothe the baby!! Once a parent - always a parent haha

Starting with baby nr 3 they were used to live in a big family and couldn't stand quietness. When they were about to sleep I could start hoovering or turn on the radio or have guests over to talk ( not whisper). They would wake up and cry if it got quiet.😂😂😂

My grandson was born July 1, 2023 and for the last month his mother (bless her heart :P) carries him around at work with her--he LOVES it...she runs a Donkey rescue! ...those of us who gave birth in the 90's found ways to become deaf to any cries that did not mean necessary food, changing, or burping

Our friends talk about their dogs being their kids and how it is just as hard as being a parent, they also complain about losing sleep and it being exhausting being a dog parent. It makes me want to at something on fire because of the lack of actual understanding. Lol

My three kids are in their late teens and 20s now, this video gave me PTSD flashbacks. Great job with this video. and congratulations to Adam and Kristy. He'll be 18 before you knowit.

So, if you hated your children so much, then, why didn’t you just give them for adoption to people who love babies and children, unlike you. And your children will be legally adults before you know it. And all of you parents out there, like yourself, just can’t wait until they’re out of your house and out of your life, and won’t need you for anything ever again, and if you weren’t a good parent, never want to see you ever again.

When I first started watching y'all years ago. The chemistry between Kevin and Diana had me believing they were an actually married couple. 😆. I was shocked to learn they were not married. One of my favorite of y'all is the pig in a pit video. Where Kevin was planning the party.

One of the most truthful videos ever. I imagined the glasses were broken by the wife when the husband hit the baby trying to kill the mosquito. Too funny!!

Our only way to get our babies to sleep back in the day was to put them in the car and just start driving. About 3 miles of driving usually did the trick... Noooooo idea why.

Yep! Near as I can tell it's: a) they can't move much in their car seat, so they can't keep themselves awake as easily, and b) there's vibration and rocking and background noise!

With my youngest we had our washer and dryer in our kitchen and I would strap him into his car seat and set it on the dryer (with it running) with me siting at the table nearby. Seems the vibrations and the warmth would put him to sleep every time. Only problem is we would have to catch the dryer BEFORE the timer went off so it wouldn't wake him up. lol

Babies have insticts that developed to keep them alive for tenthousand of years, that don't fit to current practises. First and foremost - never get left behind and eaten by predators! So babies want to be able to touch, hear, smell or see their parents at all times. They don't get, that the parents are just a room away and that they are safe. Being rocked is safe, because it means to be moved by an adult, when the tribe is moving. A bare crib is no good hiding spot from predators. A mother who is only half awake at nightly breastfeedings while sleeping next to the child is well rested the next morning, an adult having to get up at nights to go to their child will be tired as hell. So much stress can be avoided when parents know that and arrange their lives accordingly.

The doorbell and dog barking is one I can relate to.

I was a mail carrier. Can't tell you how many , "BABY SLEEPING! DON'T RING DOORBELL!" signs on front doors I would see. Poor new parents. It seems not one of them can know what's in store. I think your Mom won't tell you the truth for fear she will never have grandkids.

So funny with the front pack for the baby, I had one, hahahaha For the most part, I liked it, but it also seemed dangerous doing other things like cooking..... it was great though if I was going to ride the bus or take a walk. I also want to warn people NOT to get a baby swing that is battery operated, they always stop working when the weather is bad or it is too late to get more and cost a fortune, get a plug in one! I think everyone needs to realize how hard it is to raise children with work, sleep, chores, mood, money and everything and be kind to others who are having a hard time. We can offer to even take the baby for a few hours so the parents can bathe or sleep. I believe parents need to live in tribes with others around to help rather than be isolated in their homes, it could save some lives.

Yes, you would actually need three adults simultanelously in shifts to have a great time: One holding and caring for the baby, one doing all the chores and one sleeping. 😂

Bwahahahaha! The baby carrier, the laying the baby down, the tummy time fight (verbatim)... It almost reignited the PPD for me... So looking forward to baby #6's arrival...🥰😂😅😢😭

Somethings are better remembered than when you’re actually going through them.

There are cry differences. If the baby is fed, diaper dry then ok to cry a little. Babies need to learn self soothing. Never handle a baby without a spit up cloth. Never shake a baby/ spin around. Check tongue for ties if still crying constantly. Enjoy your new baby! Congratulations ❤

Not everyone can hear the cry differences, and that’s okay. For my own kids (who are all reasonably well-adjusted adult and near-adult), I could only pick out the hurt/scared cry. The hungry, cranky, need to poop, annoyed with tummy time, etc all sounded the same.

It’s definitely okay to leave baby alone for a few minutes if needed but actually infants have a higher chance of developing stronger self regulating skills which is why the cry it out method isn’t the best for sleep training

@@WarmFuzzyVibes Yes. Looking to see if the skin that connects the tongue to the bottom of the mouth is too extensive, limiting tongue movement. This can make it hard for babies to latch onto nipples or bottles to eat.

For many years my family has claimed the reason babies look cute is self preservation. They are teething and have been crying for 3 days. Finally they drift off into sleep. They look so peaceful and adorable how could you want to strangle them.

This stage is hard. Honesty is good. What an adorable little sweetheart!
