    Practice Practice Practice - use broken phones, pester your friends and family to get their old phones. Most people have old phones lying in drawers and cupboards. Take it apart and try to put it back together. If it doesn’t go as planned - no big deal. It’s about learning. As he says once you learn the basics you can pick up variances in different models from KZread videos. Good luck everyone and thanks for the awesome content.🙂👍

    Hey man just wanted to say super thanks for showing this and talking about it, you present very clearly and professional. I know a few years back I was asking for glass only repairs on s5 all the ships in my area only offered them in iPhone , those that did offer they would quote $300-400 , which made zero sense on a two year old phone . They would claim the screen glass and digitize are fused permanently. I ended up buying my own hot air etc and playing around with mobile phones , this equipment you use , next level

    So this is bigger than I thought but...I just really started advertising myself as a business. When someone would want a screen I would order 2 of that screen. Even if the person didnt come back that is at least a low cost start to inventory. After about 3 months I had profited a full $1000 (that means over my cost of goods). I took that $1000 to a bank to keep my funds separate from personal, and made this inventory list based on all the repairs I had done over that 3 months. There are a few more things than just iPhone parts but it is mostly iPhone. I hope this helps someone, that first 3 months was discouraging but I am looking to open a store front by Feb and started this venture this summer. @23:13 what's the point of keeping an old "good" cracked screen? Are you going to sell the glass to some manufacturing company? And what is a refurbishing company I thought this process you described to fixing the phone is refurbishing. What does the refurbishing company come into place you said you still make profit? You said they do the work for you. how long does this process take days? I thought you said in a video customers feel more comfortable if you do the work in front of them in the mall vs in a coffee shop they don't want to walk away and come back, so if you are sending their phone off to be repaired doesn't that make another issue of them waiting too long? You probably damaged your home button. Only the Apple store can fix that since the button is actually a sensor and its linked to the phone by a security feature. My question is, what do you tell people on the repair when you out source the work, like on a glass only repair or a back glass repair for example. Normally on a regular iPhone repair, I'd just tell the customer that it would be done in 30 minutes. What about something like that?

  • @RichardMeza

    @RichardMeza

    4 жыл бұрын

    You are swapping out the full screen with the frame. Customer gets another full screen and frame put on their phone. Their phone get repaired in 30 minutes this way. You keep their cracked screen with the frame and put it aside to keep and wait until you have enough to send to the screen refurbishing company. They give you back new looking screens with brand new looking frames.

  • @TravisTravesty

    @TravisTravesty

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@RichardMeza I understand that, but you were mentioning out sourcing in your video. That takes time and most customers don't want to be without their phone for longer than an hour usually. Out sourcing the repair would take getting the broken screen off, sending it to someone else while they send you a new one however many days later, and then you can put the new screen on and return to customer.

    @@TravisTravesty No. You give them a new screen on the spot. It's the same thing if you were going to repair an iPhone. You install a new screen and you keep their good working cracked screen. You keep their old screen to swap out at a later time to the refurbishing company.
