Except that Congressmen don't issue logging permits. Issuing permits is a function of the executive branch. So it would be more accurate if he bribed the secretary of the Interior, because the secretary of the interior supervises the bureau of land management, or the secretary of agriculture, because they oversee the U.S. Forrest service.

Not sure why they can't plant a few new trees as they cut the old ones down. It's called sustainable logging, that way your successor still has forests they can cut down without travelling around the globe. Ultimately cuts down on long term costs. 😉

That’s a great suggestion, really - but then, y’know, there’s the issue of _hiring_ people who do that sort of thing, having them go out and _survey_ the land to find out just what type of trees we’re cutting down and just how many _we_ have to purchase to make up for it - and all the while our guys are sitting back, drinking coffee and eating donuts on company time, that sort of thing. It’s a _lot_ more efficient to just clear-cut the land and move on from there, you know? Thanks for your suggestion, though- we’ll keep it in mind.

Before being president, Trump was inoffensive to the average Joe because he was just a dumb celebrity, but if I make a joke about him people would attack me immediately even if the joke is child stuff because people still treat the president as All Mighty (not a coincidence, politics steals a lot from religion) when in reality he is just another public service guy.
