What Would Life Be Like If Dinosaurs Were Still Alive? | Dinosaur Britain

Ойын-сауық

The world loves dinosaurs - the very word conjures up fascination and intrigue among millions. Yet few people realise that over 100 different dinosaur species once roamed Britain, which boasts one of the best fossil records anywhere in the world. From giant Sauropods the length of two double decker busses, to Raptors made famous in the Jurassic Park franchise, to the world's favourite the Tyrannosaurus Rex, all manner of dinosaurs called Britain home.

    You don't often get a good sense of just how big dinosaurs were so this is a really fun way to present it.

    This is a nice documentary. The one thing which seemed strange is that he mentioned the Cetiosaurus as 40 tonnes, the weight of 10 African elephants. Generally the weight of full grown bull African elephants is compared and in that case, it's a lot more than 40 tonnes, but Cetiosaurus actually weighed less than 20 tonnes. Also it was not 65 feet long as mentioned in the video but less than 60 feet. 7:40

    I have so enjoyed watching this video. The way that you have merged the real world with the dinosaurs and the interacting of each. It allows ones imagination to really understand what the past was like and how big or small each creatures was compared to humans.

    This was a fun series. The dinos were not too overdone although they have no idea if the sounds were right. For all we know they may have squeaked! The only problem I had with the reconstructions was the clip of the three sauropods crossing the bridge. The bridge would have collapsed with all that weight. I was holding my breath in case it did.

    They used the wrong choice of words there. Proceratosaurus is one of (if not THE) earliest tyrannosaurid(s). It lived during the Bathonian of the Jurassic period, therefore making it older than Guanlong. But T rex wouldn't come directly after it though.

    +fabolous thomas12 Probably not, predators usually kill other predators. Even predators that they are related to (for example lions kill leopards and cheetahs, wolves kill feral dogs and coyotes, etc) So if a Spinosaurus met a Baryonyx the Spinosaurus would probably kill it.

  • @SpinosaurusTheProudSocialist

    @SpinosaurusTheProudSocialist

    +Packless1 Baryonyx lived in what is now England during the early Cretaceous. Spinosaurus lived in what is now North Africa during the late Cretaceous. Also Spinosaurus had a giant sail on it's back (hence the name Spinosaurus) which the Baryonyx didn't have. So it's very unlikely that they were the same animal but instead they were closely related as they both belong to the same family Spinosauridae.

    Martin Jakobsen Scandinavien is hard because of the ice ages when glacers skraped away everything from these days, in Sweden and Denmark some fragment stuff from dinosaurs has been found but its very unlikely one would find anything complete. all of that is from the most southern parts, miving up you get old mountains only much older than the mesozonic.

    1) Not all dinosaurs had feathers and we have direct evidence that many taxa had just the opposite 2) they DID put feathers on some of the animals in this documentary such as Proceratosaurus (a basal tyrannosauroid whom we know had them via phylogenetic bracketing)
