The prank with the black dudes is in ''American Hustle Life''. That was the first time BTS went to the US. The whole point of the show was for them to learn about hip-hop/african-american culture. I almost cried when I saw that prank 😭. All ended well, but that was such a bad prank. Not only were the boys traumatized, but the whole thing only made black people look crazy💀.

That prank was from the first episode of American hustle life, and I also get uncomfortable watching it. Like do pranks really need to be borderline traumatizing? 2014 was wild 😭 The first 2 eps of that show is, in all honesty, extremely uncomfortable. Just needless disrespect on our boys. The director(or producer? Not sure abt the specifics) changed after ep 2, it was THAT bad. Assumedly the tone changed because of Suga getting tired of the disrespect and speaking up (they literally had to stop filming in the middle of ep 2 because he got so mad). But after those rough patches, the show is much more bearable and almost wholesome. Even with its flaws, it was an important part of bts’s growth as artists💜

The "prank" was horrible. They were in a foreign country and only RM was fluent in english. JK was 15 or 16 so this definitely traumatized him, probably V too. As someone who has been almost kidnapped I can't bring myself to watch this show simply because of trauma. I don't know whose idea it was, I just know that they're messed up in the head. I get the feeling of wanting to laugh, I think that's because of Cameron and his ability to make something like this funny. It would be great if you would react to more of these dubbed vids! English is not my first language so sorry if there are any mistakes. (Also sorry that I kind of trauma dumped at the beggining. I just have a very strong opinion on this.😂) Edit: I don’t know if it did traumatise them but speaking from the experience that I had I’d say it did

That prank was too much! the members who didn't know looked terrified specially Hobi and Jungkook 😭 I'm like yeah some of their reactions or faces were funny but I also felt bad bc they were genuinely scared and thought they got kidnapped. Jungkook later said he thought "it's the end for me. Where are they going to sell me off to? I kept thinking I'm going to be sold somewhere." and "Pretending to be pitiful. If I cried, would they let me go. I kept nervously biting my mouth then I suddenly thought of my mom and dad" he was only 16 when that happened 😭 Now we all laugh about it but damn that was really a heavy prank

"If BTS was dubbed" is so hilarious to me 🤣 Please react to more ! About the last part, it's from the American Hustle Life show they did when they had just debuted. To be honest, it's in the past now and I guess we could laugh about it... But it was some cringe experience and this particular beginning was poorly executed. First, like you said, asking tall, bulky black males to play the dangerous guys who kidnap them was almost racist in my opinion. For most of the members it was their first time in America and THAT is what they were exposed to on their first night. Talk about building unfounded fear of different races... On top of that, they were very young at that time (Jungkook was 16 for God's sake). It might have been played out like a game but the members were terrified, you could definitely see it. Jungkook was holding back tears so hard, Jimin looked 2 seconds away from fighting, J-Hope was petrified... They were kids and even tho it was just acting for the men, the members didn't seem to get it and that is NOT how you treat kids. Of course it was edited at some points so we don't really know what could have happened. Maybe they did freak out at some point or maybe they were explained more context. But most of these scenes were legit reactions from the members and from their point of view they were just a bunch of terrified kids (from 16 to 21) in a foreign country, confronted to imposing men who acted aggressive and that never set right in my mind. It would maybe have been funnier if these were grown men but I insist : they were KIDS...

Seriously I cried so much watching American hostel life ...man I feel so bad for Jungkook the most cuz basically he was a kid

No, I agree. That American Hustle Life episode is a hard pill to swallow. The guys arrived in a different country where they knew no one,only for this "prank" to happen. I didn't find it funny at all. Whoever came up with this prank idea should be fired from any future plans. JK was only 15 years old, I think, which would make V and Jimin only 17. That was just horrible, and I hate that episode. I swear, we have a bunch of idiots in the prank idea department. Jhope looked like he was about to cry and faint at the same time. everytime I think about that prank I get mad 😭 American hustle life has good moments but the first 2 episodes were trash. This prank the biggest reason bc this is not a way to “prank” anyone. You brought them to another country to have them “kidnapped” and yelled at in a language they didn’t speak….it’s weird. And then they used black people at that knowing we already are stereotyped as “violent”. it’s a mess all around and ion even want to imagine the reaction when this first aired
