Well it worth much more than current day 2 dollars but still is hardly anything as a gesture. Modern day 75-ish dollars wont get her husband back, but would help for a while. Given than you could buy some life stock for 5$ for your farm in late 19th century. Living cost was closer to mkdern 3rd world countries, so it could last her for several months. Ideally ofc he should give more if he has more.

Every single thing about the game is a masterpiece. The attention to detail, even the smallest things, the entire thing is incredible and I doubt there will ever be anything that comes close to it, especially nowadays with companies' focus on cutting low grade games out as fast as they can to make a quick buck and move on, or make them online live service with no depth at all.

I like the idea that this all happened in the same day, Arthur just goes from town to town like “oh not another widow yelling at me”

It's crazy how good the voice acting is in this game considering the sheer scope of the game. 500,000+ lines of dialogue... A truly one of a kind game.

When I first got this game, I was kind of struggling to keep my alignment good. I wasn't very bad, but just barely enough that this woman appeared out of the blue one day. Once I heard what she had to say, I realised I'd already crossed the point of no return, and nothing mattered then. So I killed her, then went on a rampage. It was really selfish of her to endanger everybody else like that.

Before the Battle for Blair Mountain in 1924, coal mining in the US is rough to put lightly. Get injured while at work and it's basically enough reason to get fired or be forced to retire with pittance for a pension. Oh, and since coal mining towns were as temporary housing, anyone whose family member is not an employee of the mining company that owns the housing will be evicted... Oftentimes immediately...

In fact, Annesburg was a company town - a town built by the mining corporation where everything was owned by the corporations, including accomodation and the food at the stores.

Honestly, seeing how the women in the video delivered the lines of saddness, heartbreak, anger, and loneliness makes me feel their same pain. Great acting. It shows that your actions have consequences, that the characters around you matter, and how much the game is detailed.

I've had this encounter a couple times in the end game because I ignore her and keep going to my goal. She's chased me into the stables before, calling me a coward lol.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most realistic game ever made. The attention to detail is out of this world. Even to this day's standard.

@@vidhroh1538 It was more of dutchs decision and in another mission with charles arthur is quite cold with the family that had the father kidnaped so canon pre tb arthur is not that much of a saint helper.

2:35 when the lady stands next to that light pole there is a face on it. I have been collecting images throughout the whole game and they are hidden everywhere in the game. If you use photomode on that lightpole where she stands and mess with the filters and the brightness etc it will make that image come out more clearly. I been thinking of making a video at some point of all that i have found because i haven't seen anyone else mention it. The paintings in this game are cool to look at also with above method also.

You take things for granted when you play games like this. Seriously, hundreds of hours of little things to find, and the thought was put into it, to have these widows. And not only give thing spoke dialog, and interactions, but like with the last one, dialog and specific reactions to you pulling a gun on them. Anyone that doesn't think that video games can be pure art, have never taken the time to play a game like this one and really appreciate the incredible details, and how long it took to think up, and implement them all to where it would feel like a living breathing world.

Been playing this game since 2019, still discover new things. This game is something else

The fact Arthur tells the women they are so worked up like they just crying over spilled milk was hilarious then dumped on em with 2 dollars 💀

@@e_sidera I believe you could say that (or not I dunno), 2$ in 1899(the time when the game took place) is about 73.52$ as of 2023. Either way I don't think 73.52$ would be worth the death of significant other but that's just my toughts

I go for high honour but next time I start a new playthrough I'll go for low honour

I've been trying to be good in the game, but I swear the game doesn't want you to be good. I was at a crossroads, where some "White Dot encounter" wanted to take my horse and started shooting me, so I killed him. So while I was trying to hide the body, a stagecoach went by, so I had to shoot everybody in it and hide the bodies to avoid a bounty, but people kept coming through the crossroads while I was trying to hide the bodies. Eventually I had bodies laying around all over the area, and just rode my horse far into the woods, and snuck into Strawberry to pay my bounty.

i mean you could have easily escaped and pay the bounty after the first time you got spotted but you chose to murder several people over 5 bucks so you're not THAT good

Pretty sure you can just leave if it's an encounter where they try to steal. Long as you don't lose honor, I don't think the game will count it as murder and more self defense... at least that's what I've seen in my game so far.

So long as you’re quick enough, you don’t have to hide the body. It’s not modern day. They would have no way of tracing any of that back to you, even if it were in real life. In game, it’s even easier than that. As far as constant movement on the road, yes, I agree that the spawn rate makes the roads seem a bit busy, and I’m sure crossroads have a higher spawn rate (understandably). Just learn the spawn rate based on location and time of day, if you ever want to mug someone. Playing an honorable playthrough, usually you aren’t burdened for self defense, and even when you are, you don’t have to kill the witness. The game teaches you that mechanic early on, that you can threaten or even sweet talk (and I think bribe?) witnesses to calm them down. If you’re worried about the hassle, then just bolt it as soon as you’ve killed an attacker. Standing around dead bodies is was makes you suspicious in the game.

there is also a widow in Valentine near a pole next to the station, I remember seeing it when playing the game for the first time on the ps4

That last encounter has the best acting of any npc I’ve ever seen.

This has only happened to me once: I killed a guy in Valentine in a duel then his widow said he was a good man, even though he killed a man in a duel before me. This game does it's best to make you feel like an absolute evil bastard.

This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. Years later and I’m still just learning of new interactions.

I love how his honor level is still so high.

Damn! I have had this game since release and never have I encountered these NPCs. RDR2 never ceases to surprise me.
