It's because of the accent. If a British person went to my school back then, we would've adored their accent, asked about culture, all that. Once, I was waiting at my old university for one of my classes to start and I was outside another classroom, and there was a Scottish or Irish professor and I was so mesmerized, I paused and listened to him for about 5 minutes.

There was actually an American kid who went to my school called Michael and he was the most annoying kid around! He would constantly 'correct' people when they said something like "these crisps are tasty'and he would say 'those are chips idiot! And he would try brag about hpw tuff he was and how everyone in America had guns. Then one day he made the stupid decision of walking up to a kid called Alfred (a really tough kid) and started making fun of his posh accent then alfred kneed him in the stomach and repeatedly smashed his head into the wall until it bled! Alfred was expelled and Mitchell left but Alfred is still rememberd as a kind of hero.
