I just love the fact that at every few meters, there's a mother-child pair being cute and just chilling.

ママが氷原からニュッと生えてくるのが何かシュールで笑っちゃう。

ああっ、色んなところに白いエビフライがぁぁぁぁ…(キュン死)

毎回アザラシの赤ちゃん見る度に｢何なんだ、この生き物は！｣って歓喜してます(*´∀`)

すぐ様子見にきてくれるお母さんや 放ったらかし気味なお母さんや 狩りよりも傍にいてくれるお母さんや 色んなお母さん達が見てとれますね。

I love the fact that translation tools exist so I can find cute harp seal videos in other languages! Thank you for the seals! Cheers from America!

この可愛い子たちが健やかに成長できますように。 地球温暖化のせいで氷山が溶けて、動物の赤ちゃんが氷にとどまるスペースが徐々に小さくなっているらしく、犠牲になってしまうのはこういう子達なので。

Mom is also cute, in a different way. This genuinely "melts" my heart, but it is not emotional. I hope all will be well, that nothing bad in an awful way would occur to any one of them. The human world is not kind to them.

But only for 10 days then these babies have to survive on their own… the life is not easy for baby harp seals as they face many hurdles to survive until they become adult

but the mom will only stay with the baby for a few weeks, then the baby is off alone on its own. hence the baby is fighting against time to drink as much as it can and get all the nutrients from its mom's milk.

@@limwowo5902 the relationship is short but genuinely sweet and unemotional. Both the Mom and baby seals are like "children" of our species. Love and affection is so simple or basic that we cannot, in our complicated minds, grasp to give it a description. But during the weaning period of just 2 weeks, the care is unrelenting and unconditional, with no obvious surface emotional attachments. The mothers just know to leave when it is time. It would seem like abandonment, but their biological clock has precedence over anything else, and they know of nothing else. It is the preprogramming in their existence as seals. There is no way to instill other ideas and perhaps it is for the best. We humans can hardly take care of our existence in the world ruled by us. How can we take care of our furry or feathery friends?? 😞

Unfortunately, only man is capable of the deepest experiences and relationships. This is despite sharing biological signals with other animals. The reason is simple, our intelligence and emotions are in constant interaction. No animal can understand an experience like despair or passion simply because our deep experiences are a product of our intelligence. I believe apes and potentially dolphins are possibly exceptions to at least some extent. However, the rest of the animal kingdom live shallow emotional lives. This is also why intelligence is a plausible means to appraise an animal's ethical value. The life of a gorilla is far more valuable than the life of a squirrel. And the life of a human is worth far more than the life of any animal.

アザラシの真の価値はやはり毛皮としての有用性であるとの一言に尽きます。とくに幼獣の時は動きも遅く毛皮自体も柔らかで上質なため素材としての価値は非常に高いのがいいですね。大人になって肉付きが良くなれば食用としても毛皮としても使えるのがこの生物の資源的価値を高めています。そういった部分もクローズアップすることでより素晴らしい動画になると思います
