Great sound :) did you craft the flute by yourself?

Thanks :) This instrument is made by Finnish instrument maker Rauno Nieminen. I have several flutes from other makers too, but this one is special.

@@ievanimane802 : What is really special is your playing! PS. The flute is a magical instrument: It requires no moving parts, as you prove here. Did Mozart understand this perhaps?

Hi Ieva, amazing playing! What is the name of that tune please? Or is it just improvised? I would love to find some traditional pieces for the overtoneflute to play. Thank you very much :)

The second part of the video is Halling, norwegian folk tune, the first part - just improvisation. You can play any tune on overtone flute, just mind the specific scale. But it's a great instrument for improvisation.

Thanks! Instrument is pretty diatonic - it has specific scale, based on ground note (D in my case) it is mix of lidian/mixolidinan scale, normal sound quality you can get for 2 octaves, but in those 2 octaves are gaps because of the nature of overtone scale.

What key is this flute? And what wood material if possible …wonderful!

Flute is in D, only plug on the top of the instrument is wooden, tube is plastic - it makes the instrument last longer.
