I wrote only 2 essays and letters in my whole preparation of IELTS general,watched this video two days before exam,made notes and just by following his tips , I scored 7.5 in writing,and overall L 8, R 8, W 7.5, S 7 = 7.5 bands in IELTS. Also watch videos by e2 with jay,rest you only need to practice 2-3 times everyday and you'll score your desired bands. I could score 8 but I missed things just because of low practice. Practice makes a man perfect
