Still what is gonna happen when surge and kit show up and since silver and whisper don't think it's him what if the same goes for them but they don't get a pass since they have a bad record?

I have a hunch that Lanolin will learn a big life lesson when Mimic finally reveals himself. I also adore the contrast between Silver and Blaze, including the 06’ reference at the end.

i bet when Lanolin finds out that Silver and Whisper were right to go at 'Duo', even though they were kinda hasty, it'll be when she and 'Duo' are alone and then he reveals himself to be Mimic, shocking her and he even mocks her for trusting him and defending him, thus enabling him, which would REALLY make Lanolin learn a life lesson. And maybe, while that's happening, Silver and Whisper may find out they were actually right about 'Duo' being Mimic from either sides, or it's just Silver and Whisper was just pretending to doubt herself to catch Mimic off-guard, or may she questions herself and she begins to believe in her own strength of conviction again.

yeah the audience knows but she doesn't im sure her leader arc is still on going. the team is strong but synchronized yet. whispers capable on her own but is emotional fragile, tangle fixes that but is overly reckless and needs to be reined in. lanolin is putting a lot on herself it comes off more like she stuck in 'resistance' mode not 'restoration'. the both solders line feels weird because she was a helpful civilian in the background post infinite but whisper was a mercenary pre infinite so I feel like she putting on a façade to be tough and commanding to fill her ideal of a competent leader rather then her actually self because she thinks its not good enough.

I'm more angry at Lanolin for her short sightedness, over-dedication to protocol and naivety at the moment, even though she WAS being rational, but we cannot forget she's still valued for her caution, and she WAS initially sceptical of 'Duo' before letting him in. hopefully sometime after 'Duo' reveals himself to be Mimic, there'll be some kind of redemption. I know SOME people would say it's too late for redemption, but it's like someone said, "blame people who use the knowledge as a reader and use what we know as a excuse to call her stupid or a bad character when she’s acting exactly like a person who needs evidence." Lanolin's not dumb, just ignorant.

I wonder if Silver and Blaze will meet Elise while visiting Soleana.

Things I love about this issue; Silver being "sneaky" Whisper and Lanolin having a scuffle Silver's sisters from GOTF in the background Character interupts deep convo with loud sluping noises because its funny cliché Sonic's face 12:56 and 14:52 😂 Sonic's not so subtle shipping of Silvaze Sonic just bein a silly in general Silver wanting to throw a car at Sonic Blaze laughing at Silver wanting to throw a car at Sonic Sonic 06 references

too bad Mimic was able to, as the term goes, throe them off by taking a dive and hurting himself. Silver and Whisper both seem convinced they were wrong and feel guilt, but then they'll feel better when they realise they WERE right after all. maybe Whisper will talk it over with Tangle and after giving it some thought, she begins to believe in herself again and maybe SIlver finds out during his time with Blaze. mimic can basically take the form of whoever he sees and also change the colour, and Silver might meet the guy he copied, leading him to realise

Honestly that's how I feel about IDW in general. They play things so safe and never up the drama where they should. Back when Tangle originally appropriated the Diamond Cutters name, I wanted that to last a while and for Whisper to not get over it as fast as she did, but they wrapped it up in a few panels.

@@ashuraomega1000 I'm sure there are ways IDW can make the comics more dramatic and tense without partaking in the weirdness of the Archie comics. For example, when they had Belle get mind-controlled and made her go on her own to Eggman's city in the last arc, they could have had her turn evil for a bit and forced the heroes to find a way to save her or bring her back. They also hyped up her meeting with metal sonic but all that happened was she got slapped and that was it. Why not have Eggman take control of her once more and use that to put pressure on the heroes? (I know Eggman doesn't care about Belle anymore, but even he should be able to see the attachment the heroes have developed to her, it seems like such an easy and obvious way for him to gain leverage against the heroes to me.) That's just one of many examples where they really could up the stakes and drama without breaking the mandates.

At least it's starting to make silver feel better when blaze taught him advice more than espio's advice. Can't wait to see them revisit soleanna. I wonder if elise is alive. I'll be glad seeing her again 😊

I *REALLY* hope that the first half of this issue is just some big plan that Whisper has prepared. Like she knew all this would go down cause she knows Mimic wouldn't just give up his identity so easily in front of a crowd. Cause otherwise this isn't the best writing. Silver getting caught sneaking around is one thing (i do like that they acknowledged his head looking like plant at 2:30 tho) but why would Whisper just come out of hiding too? First she says to be patient then suddenly she's not waiting anymore. So which is it? Wait for him to slip up or just assault him? This HAS to be a big plan or at least i hope it is. Poor Silver can't catch a break. At least his big sis and bestie Blaze is there to cheer him up (Sonic did say they're like him and Tails afterall). And hey I'm sure nothing will go wrong when they go to Soleana. What's the worse that can happen with those 2 going to that kingdom? 😅 Ok issue but really leaves you wanting more.

Oh boy, whenever Soleanna is mentioned there’s definitely going to be Elise shown somewhere in the mix as well due to being a central character of that particular kingdom.

5:40 - Ghosts of the Future characters! Love to see 'em! (Even Stanley's original fan comic; those girls to the left of Duo are Silver's sisters in said comic).

I think its actually ironic how lanolion treats Silver like a rookie(thats the vibes i got, could be wrong) and mistrusts Whisper. Especially since they both have seen so much and have way more experience then her. But it goes to show just how good of a manipulator mimic is. Would've been anticlimactic if he was found out so early and easily. Hopefully this time is used to flesh out mimic even more as a villain since he's alway felt not that important. And for lanolion to use this as a learning experience when she finally finds out she was wrong

Literally ALL of the combat able heroes have more experience, plus they're all physically more powerful than her. Mimic's just playing the victim like the cowardly sea snake he is. Eggman can sent Metal Sonic to go after Mimic and he's toast for . Unlike others Metal can detect who is fake or real and he's more powerhouse to finish Mimic off should he failed again. Mimic manage to stay off the radar from England for a while but more worse will coming to him

Ahhh yes, the Silvaze comic

So why does Silver immediately get thrown off the team but Whisper gets no repercussions? Sure, Silver was the one who “hurt” him, but Whisper attacked Lanolin and was about to aim a gun at Duo. I’d say she’s just as guilty of attacking an unarmed civilian, at the very least by conspiracy to harm. Of course, we as the audience know that ”civilian“ is actually a highly dangerous criminal, but that’s besides the point. I’m not even trying to hate on Whisper, nor am I saying Silver is blameless, but even she admits that this was at least partially her fault. But seriously, Silver gets verbally berated while Whisper gets a hug?

I don't think we should be too hard on her. She's a force of order in a world defined by chaos. She expects things to make sense, heros to act responsibly, new recruits not to be shape shifting traders, ect. I think her arc is realizing just how our of her depth she really is and taking the steps needed to rise up to the challenge.

You can't blame Lanolin, she was just trying to be rational here and without physical proof, she only has Silver's word against Mimic's. And she has no idea what Mimic is really capable of. The only who knows all of Mimic's tricks is Whisper. But Mimic is now on to Whisper since she knows who he is.

Silver exposing a thief among the restoration Duo (Mimic) Sonic & Blaze Hang out, spotting Silver, Sonic Blaze & Silver spend time, Blaze & Silver back together as a time traveling duo with Sonic that is. Knuckles Chaotix vs Babylon Rogues to retrieve a relic from Angel Island all leading up to the Knuckles Spin-Off Series later this year on Paramount+, Cream, Vanilla & Gemerl vs Rough & Tumble in 65 & 66.

That silver and blaze conversation at the end had the same energy as first date awkwardness and I couldn’t love it more. And references to sonic 06, nice Also yeah sometimes sonic needs to be hit by a car tbh

Part one: Duo is performing well getting more access to the restoration for Clutch, but I don't think this is over with Whisper keeping a close eye on Duo is Mimic. I believe Whisper will find more evidence on Duo in the future which is why she allowed Silver take the fall the force to leave the diamond cutters. Guess Whisper will continue as a lone wolf as the story goes on. Part two: I enjoyed that blaze is there to help Silver when he's down and joins Blaze vacation travels. Wonder if they are not part of the next few issues we get a Blaze and Silver mini arc. Also how long is Blaze's vacation anyway. The way this comic issues is going it feels like she's having a few months vacation while most people like us get a week most. The benefit of being a interdimensional princess lucky her.

Sonic is definitely a Silvaze shipper, & as one myself I was very happy seeing them getting closer & complimenting each other, their reactions afterwards were so cute

Guess we’re finally getting an official team with Silver and Blaze after all these years.

Easter egg if u look in background when silver and whisper are hiding you can see Venice "Vennie" the Hedgehog and Sicily "Sissy" the Hedgehog from Evan Stanley fan comic Ghost of the Future

If I was somehow a part of the Diamond Cutters and everyone voted against Silver I'd quit them in a heart beat to stick by Silver's side.

I really like mimic's disguise name too, duo. Cause hes technically two different people, a fake one, and a real one. Pretty obvious, but still kinda neat.

I don't think I've ever been so angry and outraged by an issue like this, look how they mistreat my boy Silver! But there will be a return, I'm looking forward to seeing Mimic's cover fall and Lanolin start to wallow in guilt and remorse for not having trusted Silver's suspicions and then needing his help to fix the problems this will cause, but I admit that just as Lanolin will have to learn hard life lessons from this, Silver will have to go through the same thing, he has to learn to have patience. Maybe meditation will help him with this and it's funny that Blaze mentions that he has immense power like Sonic but we barely see his telekinesis being explored and there are a lot of things he can do with that power, but his dynamic with Blaze is very pleasant and I liked these references at the end

Whisper will also learn a life lesson, to believe in herself and her gut and not what her head, by that I mean her initial knowledge of Mimic, then she'd learn that the scene of Duo hurting himself doesn't prove it isn't Mimic and it was a trick. Maybe Tangle, Jewel and Sonic will help her with that, and maybe even Surge and Kit when they come back, providing that they are actually reformed or at least semi-reformed

i was thinking last issue that them figuring out mimic so fast while still needing to keep him around cause he was on the issue 67 cover art was gonna result in a contrived story and i was right. why didn't silver and whisper tell anyone why they thought duo was mimic? why wasn't telling them the first plan instead of stalking him? why didn't lanolin or tangle ask any questions even resembling why? second part was great though, i enjoyed it a lot.

It was nice to see the two plots intertwine, and seeing how Whisper's trauma affected her was interesting to see again, I wonder how they'll handle it for the next issue.

i think i know why Lanolin didn't send Whisper away as well even though she was 'harassing' Duo as well. from her point of view, Silver and Whisper was assaulting an innocent out of delusional paranoia, but she somewhat understands why Whisper would act this way, since she had a traumatic past and therefore she'd be mentally damaged; remember she heard some details about Whisper's past in issue 58. while Whipser IS a bit mentally damaged, she was NOT being delusional. but she temporarilly bans Silver not just because he's the one who actually attacked, but his 'delucional paranoia' would be based on denying his own faults in issue 63, though it really wasn't.

I also think that her death would majorly affect the restoration due to her rool as the manager and it could even see people leaving it because of it

How did you do to edit the Story So Far?

Retyping this outside of a thread to share my thoughts this: I can see plausible points from different sides here, but I'm going to say Lanolin wanted to do the right thing yet went about it wrong. I keep seeing people say Whisper attacked her, but Whisper doesn't swing until AFTER Lanolin very clearly threw her on the floor just because Whisper moved her aside. She could've easily just grabbed onto her or stepped back into her path instead of straight starting a fight. She's following protocol, yes, but she's not following actual logic. She wanted proof, and if anyone could provide it, then Whisper could (as she said, she knows Mimic has certain tells), if ANYONE knew Mimic, it would be Whisper. It's not a "privilege of readers" issue as that realistically doesn't apply here; Lanolin KNOWS Whisper is more experienced than her, and that would mean she knows more-especially about Mimic. THAT is not a "privilege of reader" problem, that's a Lanolin problem. Whisper even explained he was an old teammate turned traitor, that should have gotten her attention. Again, no one is gonna know the traitor better than the one who was betrayed. Both parties could have handled this better. Maybe going to tell Lanolin first would've helped, but in my mind how would you know if maybe Mimic turned into Lanolin instead? I'd find it hard to trust anyone ngl. But I suppose it's still an option. On Lanolin's end, she chose violence almost immediately instead of questioning her subordinate since clearly he's under suspicion-by WHISPER of all people. Not to mention the time-traveler too. TL;DR I feel like Lanolin jumped the gun harder than they did. And no, I don't hate Lanolin. She's cool. Everyone makes mistakes, including Sonic. Will just be nice to see her learn her lesson when Mimic is revealed.

Hmmm, I might have one idea to makes Mimic reveal himself, though. Just cook anything with octopus everyday, and Mimic will reveal himself just to attacking them in anger. Also, I wonder if the Restoration won't accepting any new recruits for some times once Mimic revealed himself and has been dealing with, they've been constantly attacked.

what ticks ME off is the fact that we have to wait until next YEAR for the issue that'll redeem this one, and while we're waiting, well ME at least, this moment will remain rent free, as well as any potential drama that might follow, say, Whisper losing her confidence and Tangle having to help her regain her faith and even finding out the truth out of faith in Whisper, Whisper's doubt being taken advantage off by Mimic, who'll make her believe that she is cracked and do a near-killing of her. knowing idw, they'll probably not go that far

So, anyone else want Mimic to stay alive a minute longer? Yeah, I thought not.
