To be fair, at the Irish road races including the NW200 you can walk down the circuit between races, so very possible they are Irish road race fans. Not sure but suspect it’s the same at the IRRC across Europe.

@@23HF23 What a complete load of utter crap. 'To be fair'!!! I won't be fair with you!! It doesn't matter what you can do at the NW200, they have their rules. It doesn't matter what IRRC rules are across Europe. This is the IOM TT and it has it's rules for good reason. I don't care if the idiots are English, Scottish, Welsh, French, German, Swedish, Italian, Norwegian, Autralian etc. or even Irish. We were up at the bungalow on Tuesday and it was certainly cold, camped out at cafe most of the day, didn't want to see you in the way we did with the incident. Poor lad had one hell of a tank slapper coming off the tram lines. So glad to hear he is okay. Coming back down it was obvious why it was called, I think anyone who complained obviously didn't have to drive back past the bad spots on track. You keep doing an awesome job

Cheers for the insight, great to get updates from riders, teams and others. Helps make for an interesting time. I am speechless at the behaviour of some that come to the TT or other events, especially ignoring safety rules etc. or by not respecting the access afforded by locals to watch the racing. Unfortunately in my view this is the biggest risk to the future of the TT, it is only a matter of time for a serious accident caused by a spectator and the resulting suing will force grandstand only viewing, or the end of the racing.

I’ve not been to the TT for some years now but my first time was back in 1989 and the people that went were just magic. Yes, they’d party for the whole time but so did the riders. But most of all there was always respect and courtesy. Now some folks just think it’s all about them, get into the paddock sticking their phones into riders faces, walking and driving in areas that are closed off with signs everywhere telling them. I feel for the families that have been going for years because they’ll end up losing some of the experience because of select few buffoons.

Thanks for your insight. We came to the TT last year for the first time, I warned my wife and daughter about the weather/delays and we bought water proof trousers etc. Wow we were lucky, the only day the weather delayed racing was when we went to the Bungalow and then only for a couple of hours. The weather can't be helped, and the delays are harder on the riders and marshalls than on spectators who can always head to a pub. Keep up the good work 👍

I went to the TT in '98 and it was pouring rain, I made my walk up to the Start area near the gas station and saw my idle Joey on a Honda 250 screaming down the hill, probably on his second lap putting a roost of water at least 20 or 30 feet high! Very impressive. That whole week was wet and the races were held regardless of complaints, there were hardly any cancelations. It had changed a lot since then, I agree with all the safety standards because I know that there were a few very bad wrecks that year as well. I went again over the years and last year, I was a TT course Marshal. The TT will always be dangerous, but it is far FAR safer than some of the antics that I see on the roads in southern California. The Marshals have a lot on their plate and you are definitely the saving grace to the TT.

Hi from New Zealand been using the TT+ app, when you showed the really wet soaked roads it really did confirm how bad it looked. Sadly human nature you will get the professional complaining types. When there are no races they complain but if it is given a green light and many accidents happen then they will complain about that as well. I had looked at the weather and yes next week looks way better do you think that the TT organizers will come out with a event that races get simply postponed so they have more of a guarantee all races will be had. May be an extended week due to weather. (EWDW) I know may frustrate some locals roads closed etc...but more of a guarantee for the riders

I agree with that, can't call it a proper tt win in my book when there were so few entries (mainly single digit) and even less finishers. To add into that of those entering there was only one or two bikes actually capable of winning. Just look at the average lap speeds for most of the years on Wikipedia for tt zero. You had to be on either the motocysz and after they weren't in it the mugen to win. No other tt race is there a pretty much guaranteed win or 1 in 2 chance. Having said that I give props to the riders who got those bikes around the tt weighing so much. Just not the ideal testing ground and boring as hell to watch.

I have been coming her long enough to know that it's always been an issue, but it's shifted now from drunks and idiots, to 'normal' people doing it, some of them not being ware they have done anything wrong. The one thing I have noticed in recent years is the amount of people who don't have a radio or a programe. Yes some are picking up information on there phones, but today, the 4 blokes to my right, and the 3 couples to my left were asking me what time is the race, who is that just gone past etc. I had to tell all of them the Superstock was cancelled. How do you get across to those people about closed roads?

This is road racing. Drain covers, potholes, camber, wind and rain. Supertwins are far less powerful than the superbikes raced in full rain in the 90s and 00s. Dunlop did a 128 in the warm up lap on a stocker! Some riders can do it, and they should have been allowed to. Cancelling favours those who don’t want to embrace what the roads are offering them.

If the riders are going that fast its hard to see damp patches until you're actually on them. By then, it could be too late, and you are off sliding down the road with the risk of serious harm. I’m afraid that bike racing in general has succumbed to the modern “health and safety” attitude. If the course/track is wet, damp, etc then put the appropriate tyres on and RACE. Riders need to ride within their abilities and the conditions prevailing at the time. They know the risks. This namby pamby attitude of the officials is killing the sport. There has never been better marshalling, better medical facilities, safer bikes etc so let the riders decide how fast to go round the slippery corners. We make these decisions every day on public roads, according to the conditions prevailing at the time, let’s make them on the track!!!!!
