Did anyone else notice that Idina got the most applause out of all the names who were called? Idina is so worth cheering for all the time! 💚💚💚

She's definitely having a prolific career, it's very cool that she was nominated for both Rent & Wicked (where she rightfully won), which are two of the best musicals Broadway has produced in the last 20 years. Anyway, I think she's very shrewd with the material she chooses, and she's now Broadway royalty and rightfully so. One of the most humble and heartfelt acceptance speeches I've ever heard, and the way she thanked Kristin Chenoweth was REALLY touching.

To this day this video makes me so proud of her. You can tell how much this moment meant to her when they announced her name and you could clearly see she was beyond stunned for a second.

It's ten years later and this still makes me cry a little bit

she started shaking as soon as they said her name. I love her. She is one of my most favorite actresses.

She is so real and humble

Kristin absolutely bursting with pride, and not a hint of jealousy in sight after losing out on a Tony award. Just completely elated, soaking up her friends acceptance speech. ❤️

+elsa1942 I have not actually seen her in Wicked back when she was Elphaba but you are right. Idina has one of the most beautiful voices on the planet!

I'm so glad she acknowledged Kristin Chenoweth and Kristin wasn't jealous or anything. That was so sweet.

+shabytin Even if I have not seen them in Wicked I have to agree. Now they are both superstars for their music, Broadway credits and Disney work.

I love how she thanks everyone involved in the show, as if the award was for everyone and not just her. She's so sweet it makes me want to cry. :3

2 years later, I still cannot believe Idina was Elphaba ten years later before being Elsa! I was already a fan of her before Frozen having listened to the original cast recording of Wicked and seeing her as Nancy in Enchanted. Competing that night against fellow future Disney legends in the Leading Actress in a Musical category

I believe this is the best video ever! Doesn't fail to make me cry of joy even more than 10 years after. Idina rocks this world!

I don't know why people say that they hate each other. You can see how happy Kristin is for Idina.

that was the best acceptance speech i have ever heard! I love how Kristin Chenoweth appeared to have no ill will towards Idina winning and appeared genuinly happy for her. And I love how she got this entire speech out in 2 breaths!

I think I'm in love with that woman...I teared up (dispite this being like my 10th viewing!) and I just had to clap! She just looked so shocked and overwhelmed and... genuine. It just feels like a really great moment for anyone with a dream, and a real victory for substance and beauty and honesty in the world :) THANK YOU IDINA MENZEL!

awh she's so humble! You can really see that she enjoys what she does for a living with humility, grace, gratitude, and thanks. I'm so glad I "discovered" her and started listening to her music recently.

the fact that 6 years after the fact, people are still watching this shows that idina has created an unforgettable role and no one can replace her :) she BETTER be in the movie.
