If it hasn’t already been proven, does this backstory sort of confirm that the hunters (or at least some of them) aren’t just figments of the survivors’ imaginations(since it shows Luchino becoming a reptilian)?

It's overflowing fear caused by the medicines. So yeah, most of the hunters are just survivors interpreted as killers/monsters by other survivors. For example, Weeping Clown trying to save other survivors with his rocket, but he's seen as the Smiley Face charging at them.

@@crash2262 I know that the medicine plays a part in some hunters, but what I’m wondering is if that’s not the case for all of them. This backstory shows that regardless of class (hunter/survivor) that Luchino is still a reptilian, so the survivors must’ve not been imagining what they were seeing with him like they were with Norton and Orpheus. I mean, I guess the medicine could’ve been used to dramatize the reptilian characteristics, but I doubt he’d be as upset with the situation as he seems in the video if he was only gaining a couple scales and not a full-blown transformation

​@@iwantsleep8079 Well, in Eli's letter, he proudly shows his scales to others in the game he's participating. I'm guessing his Evil Reptilian identity could be his full mutation, or medicine induced hallucination. Also some hunters are straight up manor's staff like Mad Eyes, No. 26, Gamekeeper, and Undead, they're most likely won't have survivor persona, as in they're not hallucination at all. Feaster, he's most likely the cultist writer from Eli and Luchino's game, he killed Fionna early on, most likely making the other sees him as the hooded tentacle he is. For Dream Witch though, I don't have anything on her, she could be an genuine supernatural being, and you can see her involved in this video.

i really appreciate the thought put into this video- the video starts off with professor luchino with button eyes. then we see a lizard shedding it's skin at 0:43, symbolizing the change he is about to go through. then his button eyes are replaced with regular eyes, a trait only belonging to the hunters of the manor. this seems to represent impending change, his shift from prey to predator. super cool, can't wait to see his in game abilities as a survivor!

love the way his words are dragged/spaced out. kinda similar to how reptiles(esp serpents) speak in cartoons, but more realistic.

And that children, is how Luchino became a scalie.

i can't get over how incredible the artwork is, especially at 0:54, it's so full of emotion! love to see another hunter's survivor form, it adds to both the characters depth and the story's overall development. props to the team for the incredible artwork!

a really interesting thing to note is the symbol that flashes across the screen at 0:37- it's actually yidhra's symbol, the dream witch. it was only after that symbol appeared that luchino began to change, both physically and mentally, as he later stated that he "shall step over the last of his boundaries", which i believe refers to turning toward human experimentation. i believe in his deductions it was an unknown species of snake that he was researching that bit him, and i do wonder if yidhra was involved with that as well, as she is part snake herself. as well, the symbol of ouroboros was shown, which represents the endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth, and is a symbol of alchemy too. i think it is interesting as well that the snake's front and end weren't touching at the beginning, but after the appearance of yidhra's symbol, the snake finally bites down on itself, as if sealing the cycle and luchino's transformation. (let me know if i made any errors.)

Yes In the original lore where yihdra comes from she turns people who are cruel to animals into animals so I’m assuming his harm to animals or reptilians yihdra turned him into a lizard as punishment

The Hunters themselves seem to have been survivors before they became hunters.

0:50 when Luchino says “Is this a cruel joke from the Creator? Or the inconvenient truth of evolution?”, I think it links to that snake head biting its tail, meaning that human evolution is going back to reptile, meaning evolution is only a cycle and they are going backwards, this is what Luchino’s studies have amounted to. The creator here, must be God. also since Yhidra’s symbol flashed across the screen for a brief moment, he must’ve gotten into contact with her when researching human evolution, and she must’ve been the source of his transformation. (This is also backed up by Hunter Luchino and his deductions).

the symbol is actually called Ouroboros, used in many cultures and alchemy. It has a lot of meanings but basically it represents the endless cycle of life and death (serpent eating its own tail)

It's both actually, they are all survivors and hunters at the same time. The drugs make them see each other as hunters instead of their true form.

yes, they’re stories are basically related. the reptile luchino was studying on was previously a human named volcker, that was probably turned into a reptile by yidhra as a curse.

Survivor, it was confirmed that when The survivors enter The Game they give them some kind of drug that alters how you ser everything, do that it seems more spookier than it really is That's why smiley face is both hunter and survivor. Tht means they are really survivors but are seen by others as hunter
