As you can see ada cuts open the brain/frontal lobe, means that emil will loses lots of function that control by the frontal lobe brain, might be also included his memory. So the "paradise" in the video is mostly means by making him lost of memory.

Im Not sure but by his deductions ive read it seems he was taken form his mother when he was Just born Abuse by his caretaker in both Physical and psychological ways because he was "ussless" to bring money Until he notice how Agile was Emil once evoiding dogs while trying to escape some, people seem to really like that so his caretaker begun to use him a Entertainment show And thats all ive remember for now 🤔

their relationship isnt toxic, just unhealthy. i do hope for their relationship to get better when their story progesses. relationships aren't perfect, and this shows. then again, they seem to care about eachother. ada has good intentions but she's doing it wrong. but duh, she doesnt have good technology to help him the way she wants it to. it shows that they love eachother.

Not gonna lie, I love how Netease made their relationship unhealthy. In that kind of situation being surrounded by so much abuse, who in their right mind could ever end up with a perfect romantic relationship? They're two people running from maniacs who get off from torturing and manipulating their patients. And from a viewer's perspective, it'd be so cliched too if the devs made their dynamic that flat. I like that there's plenty of room for them to learn and grow as characters.

They're obviously not the healthiest couple out there but at the same time it's evident in the video that they care for one another regardless of their power imbalance. Coming from someone who's been in a relationship I'll be honest not every relationship is healthy they start of unhealthy and they basically will always have that period where its gonna drastically change to better then return back to toxic. its bad because it is literally unethical. a relationship between a doctor and a patient is an abuse of power; there is a clear power imbalance, which is what makes the dynamic and their relationship unhealthy. yes, ada wants to help him, but due to her role as his caretaker and the fact that she has full control over him (the hypnotherapy) is what makes this unhealthy and “toxic”.

it’s a patient-doctor relationship, the power imbalance is uncomfortable. it’s like a teacher-student relationship, except she can control him and he is mentally unstable, while she is responsible for caring after him.

I just noticed how this video hints at how ada's skills are in game, "i need your response" like how you need to response to ada's whistle to heal you, "Her treatments are losing effect " like how her gets a debuff every time she uses her hability

So let’s get this straight.. Emil was being kept in a torturing center and Ada got him out of it and helped him escape to go stay with her where she alone will try to help him recover. However that is unhealthy because Emil should have gotten professional care, and now Emil is just completely obsessed and reliant on Ada alone, and at the end Ada made some deal with a businessman about who knows what but it definitely had something to do with Emil. Tell me if I’m misunderstanding anything.

Considering the scene, the professional help definitely wasn’t good at all. Keep in mind the game doesn’t take place in modern days so… the general opinion towards mental illnesses was definitely bad and ignorant back then, doctors weren’t as scientifically progressed and informed as they are now so she’s definitely in the right for getting him out of there. Just think about asylums and electroshock therapy, that’s pretty much what was happening

This touches my heart, as a BS Psych student mesmer is a major influence in how we treat patients. These characters are show such tragedy of mental illness and we should fight against the stigma of mental illness, the brain is an organ, it gets sick.

The thing with this community is, that they'll praise male characters like aesop, jack and joseph and romantize them (and no one gives a shit) but when it comes to emily, eda and more it's suddenly a problem? It's cute how we don't see you talking about Jack being a serial killer and you calling him hot😁

@@xxliew honestly I disagree, I have seen people talk about how toxic hunter x survivor is but most people who have mentioned this put it under as an unpopular opinion. Also if you go to wattpad, alot of hunter x survivors fanfic will be in the top place. If you go under a martha x naib post, you’ll see people saying they prefer jack x naib. If you see any cosplayers tiktok, you’ll see people go crazy when a hunter cosplayer flirts with a survivor cosplayer. I’m not excusing this ship as it isn’t healthy either however it’s clear that people are a bit bias here

@@notatl1804 that's more unethical than abusive; those are not quite the same thing. She didn't appear to be exploiting her power over him (which would have been abusive), but a doctor/patient romance is definitely unethical.

I love everything that identity v make, it looks like short movies! Emil is so cute v.v

Their design is so amazing!Like it or not people are basically required to have both characters in the match together because they provide extra buffs(also Emil decodes 30% slower when any other female survivor decodes w him) I personally like the concept of them being together,keep in mind Ada tried to help him as much as she could,she's not like the 'Joker'(ppl compare her to him but she didn't use Emil like Joker used Harley)

The story is kinda complicated but quite adorable Basically ada (therapist) felt so bad about the patient since he kept being in pain with the needle treatment that he gets so she took him away and handled him herself at first the whistle hypnosis (her therapy/ability ingame) kind of worked but slowly it's progress got slower till suddenly it does not work anymore because the more she tries to treat him the more the patients bad memories come back to him then when all hope is lowering they were invited to the manor and they intended to join the trials since the guy behind it promised that it could give them money but she did not know what actually awaits them there... Also added bonus that the only thing that what's keeping the patient from being insane was the therapy and his interest for the therapist... Basically they like each other but they never told it to each other.... Saddening since the trial gave them the paradise...

i know they have a toxic relationship but,,,LOOK AT THEM, THEY'RE SO CUTE edit: thank you to those who corrected me, I meant "unhealthy" instead of toxic ^^.

@@HelloHappyelo it’s still toxic and not okay ^^ he’s not well mentally and ada knows it and still chooses to not only treat him as his doctor but take him away from further professional treatment. theres an inherit power imbalance, one that’s even acknowledged as emil himself knows he’s going nowhere but feels too attached to ada’s treatment that he doesn’t leave. the relationship is unhealthy and extremely dependent on each other which is never, ever good in a relationship.

If anyone has watched the show “Ratched” you’d understand the “relationship” or the given points of their characters; the reasoning to emi’s treatments were of those back then were doctors were finding ways to cure people of AHDH, being gay, seizures and other issues that existed back in the time where medicine for those things never existed or were properly examined, Ada has to establish a relationship with Emi inorder to “treat” him because at the time Ada and Emi are from the year 1940’s-1950’s where lobotomies were created to “rid patients of illnesses” Ada as a doctor is infatuated with wanting to be the first doctor to complete a successful lobotomy because at the time over 200,000 of these were done with half of them not being successful completely paralyzing the patient themselves; Ada and Emi are both from the UK as treatment with electrician and boiling baths to “cure” patients were mainly based in United Kingdom Ada cares for Emi which is why she goes through with a lobotomy because she’s trying to “rid” him of his illness; mind you at the time lobotomy’s were given left in right even practiced in-front of a whole group of doctors to showcase the procedures, the only reason Ada wants Emi to herself is because she can’t stand seeing Emi get tortured and traumatized, she would hypnotize him because again at the time doctors would do this to help a patient find where certain trama was met; seeing as what she is doing so far isn’t successful she goes through the lobotomy which is what we see at the end, before going off in eachother atleast do your research before trying to “spit facts” the whole fandom whines n cries abt toxic relationships as if the game itself isn’t horror filled: the only reason Harley X joker exists is because the show in itself is a whole lot series about bad people and good people Harley x Joker within the fandom will exist because they were the iconic duo partner within the time the comics even reached the shelves: the only reason why people romanticize them is because their captivating stories through the whole serious from start and finish hence why Harley is no longer seen with joker and a new character is now jokers sidekick, y’all need to stop fighting over a ship in a horror game understandable ships are allowed n stuff but when something is clearly cannon let it be and go in your way half of you guys are too young to even process certain behavior

I feel like Ada should be a hunter. Like her character would make a really good one and it would also add layers to their dynamic as well. Tho maybe that's just me loving angst

This trailer is so eerily beautiful, it reminds me of the mysterious vibes idv gave me when I first started playing and I love that.

Ada is doing genuinely everything in her power (and everything available in the time period) to help the person she loves, I'm genuinely confused as to why this is considered toxic? She's not abusing him or taking advantage of him, did it become toxic for people with mental illness to date people this year or something?

I think the reason people are calling it toxic mostly is because, in the story that came out for them, it said Emil was the first patient that reacted positively to Ada’s hypnotherapy and that’s why she initially felt she had to take him with her. It’s also got a lot to do with the power imbalance, it’d kinda be like you dating your therapist or doctor. Don’t get me wrong, I think these two are cute as hell - I’m a big sucker for characters having partner abilities. I wouldn’t say it’s toxic, just unhealthy. But let’s be honest tho, it’s kinda realistic - relationships aren’t black and white, they aren’t your standard cookie cutter Disney shit, people from all different walks of life can come together and fall in love. No relationship is ever easy and clean all the time, and it doesn’t seem like Ada downright abuses him - she’s trying to help it’s just executed poorly. Overall, it’s a fictional relationship so it ain’t that deep lmao

I really don’t understand tho why people are so angry about these survivors’ relationship honestly. Just seems interesting to me. It’s clear apart from considering him as a step towards mastering her hypnotherapy, Eda does genuinely care for Emile. I can understand why some people would definitely not like the pairing but c’mon man, end of the day it’s just fiction lol. They’re not romanticising abuse or promoting ppl to go and date their doctor/or patients. Seems like a silly thing to be angry over lol. Hope ur replies stay clear of discourse, have a good one ✌️

I think it’s because of the patient/doctor relationship instead. Apparently it’s illegal in some states/countries.

I wish they would add voicelines when they come across each other in game just like League of Legend champions when they are together in battle. Would be cool hearing him call out to her "Ada" coming across her during a match.
