This song is the best, literally. It’s like he encapsulated American racial tension and put it honestly in two peoples shoes. All the things many people think but never say out loud, so it never gets resolved. I especially love the bridge where he talks about the cycle continuing, placing blame, and how divided we are. The song also takes accountability for both sides. Joyner really outdid himself here.

@justaguyonyoutube
3 жыл бұрын
@@Jamplays592 not really, it's because the issues go far deeper than race. There's no such thing as good or evil in an objective context, what you see as moral and just others may see as wicked and disgusting. There's no objectivity to labeling things good or bad because in the end it's just a point of view which is a subjective expression

@TheRealInky
3 жыл бұрын
@@justaguyonyoutube there is objective good and evil. It's objectively good to help someone in need and objectively evil to murder. That's according to pretty much any culture, ever. It's more nuanced than that, of course, but on a really basic level you're just wrong. There is an inborn moral compass - it isn't all nature or all nurture. And that makes complete sense, just in an evolutionary sense. Good and evil may or may not be "just" human conceptions, I won't claim one or the other as truth, but it's either dishonest or naive to suggest that they don't exist. They certainly do, as ideas, or we wouldn't be talking about it in the first place. All or nothing approaches to complex and nuanced issues are silly. You're making a very extraordinary claim and presenting a self-assured veneer as if you know the truth. People have argued these things for thousands of years and we will likely continue arguing these things for thousands more. A little humility wouldn't kill you; you don't have all the answers.

@kenjisxsad5404

It explains the whole problem that’s been going on for hundreds of years. Especially in the early/mid 1900s. Racism and division between both Black and White people isn’t necessarily a skin colour issue it’s a mindset issue. Racist people exist because of past issues between races and because they held onto that and spread their toxic point of view and infected other people. All people despite origin deserve love and peace, we should all get on and not see colour because deep down we’re all the same, we’re all human after all and at the end of the day skin colour/appearance doesn’t matter it’s who you are who determines who you are. Spread love not hate. And this is from the perspective of a white person. I mean sure I may have been “racist” in the past (when I was a kid) I thought it was strange that other people have different skin colour and then I learned that it wasn’t strange and that it was a normal part of humanity. But I guess we were all kind of like that as a kid because we were naive and hadn’t really seen the world.
Uncomfortable, yes. Mind opening, indeed. This is THE conversation that needs to happen on a mass scale so we can truly unite. Untie as brothers and sisters, as Americans, or simply because we are ALL humans. Ive lived both sides of this story and i will fight for everyone!

White guy here. What I got from this song was that there's a point on both sides. Okay, that sounds basic as fuck... except I mean there's REALLY a case on both sides. Whites and blacks spend so much time hating each other and killing each other that there's almost no understanding at all. But then when we try to understand each other, we also fight that shit "Trying to steal black culture", "Paying my taxes for your food stamps".... so there's a misunderstanding and we do it to each other. Not starting an argument here but the same way that the second part isn't fascist is the same way the first part isn't. Joyner knows something you failed to realize from this song and that's this: we come from different places and both have shit to say about one another and it's possible to out those differences aside and coexist.

Sad you think every white man is racist cause of the act of one white cop.
The feeling I'm feeling after this, is deep💞😭
Wow, powerful message. I never knew so much from both sides of the coins existed. Thank you, for opening my eyes and scaring me to havin me in tears. I was raised in a time not to see color or even a disability, what I hope is taught/shown thru by actions today. Respectfully, God bless
As a fellow African American this song is so true How does this not have more likes?
I just cried and cried. I felt the words and hug. I wish things , situations and some wasn't the way it is. I just want PEACE AND LESS STRESS.
I've watched this so many times and it still hits the same everytime!! It's all about understanding how history has put us into this position and to move forward as black and white people, this would relate to so many people(I'm from the UK) but it's not mainstream so doesn't get seen!! Poetic and honest song.
This goes hard and the backstory of this song just has lot of meaning to it respect
This is a great message ❤
This song is facts. ESPECIALLY now!!
This song gives me cold chills every time 🙌💯 incredible song
If this song makes you angry... you not listening to the depth of the words. This is deep. Yet true

I hope this song is heard in pity, I pray that this song will lose its meaning to us, and we can finally move past the racism. I understand the context but someone a hundred years later will see this and be sad that we were like this to begin
